Chapter 371
Aiden’s head started throbbing the moment he spotted Isabelle. He quickly looked away, pretending he hadn’t seen her.
Catherine, still stinging from the verbal beating Isabelle had given her at the banquet, immediately shrank behind Aiden, but the latter didn’t even spare her a glance.
Isabelle’s sharp gaze stayed fixed on Aiden. She felt unlucky to run into these people again.
Sure, she had a sharp tongue, but it wasn’t like she enjoyed being fierce. These people kept pushing her buttons. If they didn’t act so shamelessly in front of her, why would she bother?
Aiden had a sinking feeling that Isabelle was about to use him as her punching bag this time. He wasn’t her husband, so why should he put up with it?
If it weren’t for Lucas’s sake, he would have slapped her long ago.
“Lucas, you should head home. It’s quitting time,” he said, hoping his friend would take the shrew away before she ruined his image in front of the staff.
“Honey, let’s go home,” Lucas said, his stomach already in knots.
Cold sweat prickled down his back. He was terrified his pregnant wife would cause a scene and tear the company in half.
With so many employees watching, it would be utterly humiliating if the three leaders all got cursed out.
Surprisingly, Isabelle only shot Aiden a cold look and said nothing. Lucas heaved a deep sigh of relief and wrapped an arm around her waist, ready to steer her out.
If nothing else had happened, they would have left just like that. But Catherine peeked out from behind Aiden, looking timid. “Is she mad at everyone because of me?”
She cowered, adding, “Izzy, is it okay if I call you that? Last time I overstepped and called you the wrong thing.”
Isabelle sneered, watching the performance unfold, but Lucas panicked again.
Things had finally calmed down. Why was Catherine poking the bear again? These women were all troublesome.
Catherine was surprised that Isabelle gave no response, but it didn’t stop her.
“I know I can be really impulsive.” She winced, trying to squeeze out some tears. “The guys have always protected me too much. I don’t understand a lot of things and end up offending people. If I’ve done anything wrong, please forgive me. Lucas, could you please tell her I’m sorry? I’ll change, I promise.”
Lucas immediately jumped in. “Cathy is…”
Isabelle roared at him before he could finish, but no slap this time. Instead, she grabbed his ear and

twisted. “Are you deaf or dull? Can’t you hear or remember anything? Didn’t I tell you not to speak up for
her?”
“No, I wasn’t. I swear!” His heart raced. That had been way too close.
She turned back to Catherine, scoffing. “Forgive you? Why should I? You used this little act to break up Vance and Rebecca. Now you’re trying it on Lucas and me?”
Catherine’s face drained of all color. “No, I didn’t mean that.”
Isabelle wasn’t impressed. “Save the act! I may not have seen much of the world, but I’m good at identifying bitches. Now get the hell out of my face!”
Catherine had never been humiliated like this in front of the guys. Tears immediately started streaming
down her face.
Aiden couldn’t stand it anymore. “Isabelle, you went too far!”
“I just said this two-faced snake broke up Rebecca and Vance,” Isabelle sneered. “You really think she only did it to them?”
