Chapter 374
“Okay,” Vance muttered before walking back into his office.
Catherine followed a few steps, only to hear the door slam shut. She stood frozen outside for a long
time, unable to process it.
Was this really the same man who, when she first returned, had given her anything she wanted?
She had looked so pitiful, but he hadn’t even noticed. His gaze no longer lingered on her. It was
unbelievable.
She sneered, realizing that men were always chasing what they couldn’t have.
When Aiden arrived home, the first thing he noticed was two large suitcases in the entryway. He assumed Sonia had just returned and hadn’t unpacked yet.
He walked in and called out, “Shane?”
Their son came out dragging a small suitcase, walking quietly beside Sonia. She held his hand and carried a large canvas bag over her shoulder.
“Are you just getting back or heading out?” Aiden asked, sensing something was off.
“Heading out,” she replied flatly.
“Where to?” He thought they were going on a trip. “It’s fine if you want to get away for a bit, but I don’t have time to go with you.”
She remained indifferent. “No need.”
“Alright, then go by yourselves,” he said, feeling quite pleased with himself.
This was the wife he had properly trained. Compared to him, Vance and Lucas were pathetic. One got divorced, and the other got slapped. Embarrassing!
She looked at him with cold detachment. “What I mean is, you won’t need to from now on.”
“What?” He blinked. “What are you talking about?”
“I mean, let’s get a divorce,” she replied calmly,
He paused, then scoffed, “Divorce? Are you trying to copy that cripple Rebecca? She has a powerful cousin. What do you have? Do you have what it takes to divorce me?”
Sonia’s gaze was colder and more determined than he had ever seen. “Just because I have nothing left, I’m not afraid anymore. I want a divorce.”
“You’re not joking?” Aiden studied her carefully. “You’d better think twice. If you divorce me, you’ll truly have nothing. Who would want you then? How would you even survive?”

Shane, who had been nervously clutching Sonia’s hand, suddenly spoke up. “I want Mom. She has me!”
“You?” Aiden sneered. “You brat, siding with your mom? If she leaves me, she won’t even have money to feed you.”
Shane was too little and feared Aiden. Even so, he gathered his courage, puffed out his chest, and said in a trembling voice, “I’ll grow up fast. I’ll take care of her!”
Blinking back her tears, Sonia pulled her son tightly into her arms, took a deep breath, and said, “Divorce is inevitable. If you’re willing to do it amicably, it will save us a lot of trouble. If not, I’ll file a lawsuit.”
“You’re learning all the wrong things,” Aiden sneered. “You really think you can threaten me with that? You see, after your mom passed, I felt some pity for you and wanted to make it up to you. But if you insist on this, then fine. Divorce it is, but I won’t give you a cent.”
That was within her expectations. Without another word, she led Shane to walk toward the door.
“Sonia!” Aiden roared as she reached the entryway. “If you walk out that door, you can forget about ever coming back! Think carefully, and don’t regret it later!”
Sonia didn’t pause for even a second. She opened the door, let Shane go first, and then wheeled the suitcases out without looking back.
