“Who? I don’t remember you having any female classmates like that,” Catherine pressed.
“High school classmate. You don’t know her,” Vance replied.
She wasn’t convinced. “A high school classmate who cusses you out?”
He was now a powerful CEO. Who would dare speak to him that way? She didn’t even dare.
She tried to snatch his phone and succeeded. He watched her skillfully enter his phone password and thought of a saying: “You reap what you sow.”
He finally understood how that strange post had appeared on his social media. He truly deserved it.
She saw the top call log entry, then put the phone down. “It really is a classmate, but she has no manners at all.”
He took the phone back. “Who else did you think it was?”
“I thought…” She didn’t finish the sentence. Of course, she had thought it was Rebecca-the only person daring to curse him like that.
But how? Despite her bad attitude, he was willing to give Rebecca all the assets. That was crazy.
Catherine had always admired and pampered him, but she had gotten little for it. Now, even acting spoiled wouldn’t work anymore.
Vance unlocked his phone, opened the chat, and sent the screenshot to her. “Care to explain what this is about?”
Her phone buzzed, and when she checked out the content, she panicked for a second. Then she quickly composed herself, and tears welled up in her eyes.
“I was drunk,” she sobbed. “I just wanted your acknowledgment. I wanted your friends to know about me. I-I got emotional because I care about you too much.” 2
He listened stiffly, offering no response. There was nothing he could say.
Even if she admitted it, what difference would it make? This wasn’t the only problem between him and Rebecca. Compared to everything else, this was probably the smallest issue.
He gripped his phone so tightly that the veins on the back of his hand popped. In the end, he decided to let it go.
Aiden quickly stepped in. “About this matter…”
Vance looked at him, remembering how he had stopped Lucas from finding the screenshot. “You know
about this?”
“Yes,” Aiden admitted. “I saw it right after it was posted and talked to Cathy. She saw her mistake and

deleted it immediately.”
Vance stood up and walked out of the office without another word.
“Vance, where are you going?” Catherine shouted after him. “I have a check-up at the hospital tomorrow. Will you come with me?”
“Yeah,” he hummed, quickly disappearing.
She chased him to the door and saw he was almost at the elevator. She ran forward, then squatted down
to clutch her belly. She cried out in pain, “Ow, my belly hurts.”
He turned around and rushed back.
Aiden scolded him, “Come on! You know Cathy is pregnant. You’re about to become a father. How can you still be so careless?” (4
