Chapter 418

Sonia gave a cold snort but didn’t object.

Lucas urged Catherine gently, “Hurry up and pack. They need to get back to work soon.”

She cursed him silently, but with Sonia and the movers standing there like grim reapers, she had no choice but to start packing.

She didn’t care much about the documents. Her eyes were only on jewelry, luxury bags, and expensive clothes. She stuffed them all into boxes, but Sonia demanded to inspect them.

“Take all of that out!” Sonia pointed at everything except the documents. “You can keep the clothes you’ve already worn. They’re dirty anyway.”

Catherine threw herself over the boxes as if her life depended on

ged it. She screamed hysterically, “These

are all things! Don’t you dare touch them! They’re all mine!”

“Yours?” Sonia tossed a bank statement in front of her. “Look carefully. These are the recent

transactions from Aiden’s card. How was the money spent? How much was transferred to you? It’s all clear. If you want to prove these things are yours, show me the receipts.”

Catherine collapsed onto the boxes and stopped moving.

It wasn’t that she couldn’t produce receipts, but many of the bills showed bank card information that wasn’t hers. And the rest had been bought with money Aiden had transferred to her.

Lucas knew the truth: none of that money had come from Aiden. They had all come from Vance through Aiden. But how could he reveal that, especially since Catherine wasn’t admitting it?

He shook his head wearily and decided to let it go. Even if he explained it was Vance’s money, it wouldn’t change anything.

Vance was already divorced, and the money had come through company dividends that Vance had given

to Aiden. It was complicated.

In the end, no matter how much Catherine cried and protested, the only things left in her boxes were her documents and clothes.

Two hours later, the house was empty. The keys were now in Sonia’s hands.

“I’m locking up,” she said, changing the code and urging Catherine to leave.

The latter sat on the floor, sobbing and refusing to move.

“Fine. Guess it’s my turn to say it,” Sonia said, pulling out her phone. “If you don’t leave, I’ll call the police. This is a private residence-my residence.”

“Come on, let’s go,” Lucas said, picking up her suitcase.

Catherine was afraid of the police, but she couldn’t swallow the humiliation. She immediately called

Aiden and put it on the speakerphone.

“Aiden! Come see what Sonia is doing!” she said urgently, figuring the divorce had turned the two into enemies.

Even if she had to leave, she could at least have Aiden chew Sonia out. Then she could walk away with some dignity.

“What is it?” Aiden’s voice was flat.

Catherine recounted with heavy exaggeration how Sonia had burst into the house, thrown out her belongings, and was kicking her out.

She glared at Sonia triumphantly, waiting for Aiden to explode.
