Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 419

Chapter 419

Aiden did explode, but his curses were directed at Catherine.

“I thought something serious had happened. I told you not to contact me lately. Are you deaf?” he spat.” Get the hell out! I’m busy!”

He hung up, and Catherine’s hand shook with rage.

Lucas couldn’t bear to watch it. He sighed heavily. “Forget it, Cathy. Just leave.”

What else could she do? Waiting for the police to drag her out?

“Just you wait! And Aiden, too!” she spat, her eyes blazing with pure hatred. “None of you will have a good ending!”

She walked out with her head held high. Lucas carried the suitcase for her.

Sonia locked the door. Behind her, two moving workers carried the last two boxes.

They waited for the elevator together. When it arrived, Sonia stepped in, but obviously, Catherine refused to ride with her.

Sonia looked at Lucas and said, “I’ll go first. You know what to do. Don’t make Isabelle come ask me what happened.”

“I didn’t…” he started to explain, but the doors closed. He shouted desperately, “Sonia, don’t twist anything to her.”

Sonia and the movers headed down to the underground parking lot. Lucas and Catherine went to the first floor.

Once outside the complex, looking at the heavy traffic and bustling world, Catherine sat down on the curb and started crying. “What am I supposed to do now?”

She didn’t even have a place to live anymore. Where was she supposed to go?

Lucas squatted down beside her and sighed heavily. His mind was foggy from exhaustion and stress.

Neither of them was aware that across the street, in a parking spot, a car window rolled down slightly, then rolled back up.

Inside the car sat Rebecca. A baby-faced young man was in the driver’s seat, and beside Rebecca in the back seat sat a young woman.

They watched the moving truck pull out of the parking lot and drive away.

The young woman said, “Looks like it’s done.”

“Yeah,” Rebecca replied, staring out the window.

“This house was bought with Mr. Bradford’s money. Now it belongs to Ms. Hodge. Are you really okay with that?” the young man asked.

Rebecca nodded. “It’s fine. Sonia has suffered a lot and has been raising her child alone. It’s not easy.”

She already had more money than she knew what to do with. She just hoped Sonia could start a fresh life after leaving Aiden.

“What about those two?” the young man asked, looking across the street.

Rebecca took one last look. “Everyone has their own fate. This is just the beginning. Let’s go.”

“Alright.” The young man started the car and pulled off.

Catherine sat on the curb, still crying nonstop. Lucas’s phone buzzed with a message asking if he was done yet and urging him to come home.

He grew anxious. “Sitting here isn’t helping. You should find somewhere to stay. A hotel for now, then look for a place.”

“Where am I supposed to stay?” she said tearfully, leaning toward him. “Can you help me find a place? You’re the only one I can rely on now.”

He jumped back and used the suitcase to block her. Catherine ended up leaning on it. A flash of anger crossed her eyes, but it quickly dissolved into tears.

“Lucas…” she whined miserably.

He sighed. “It’s not that I don’t want to help, but the second I spend any money, Isabelle will know.”

Isabelle had registered a SIM card using his ID, and all his bank and credit cards were linked to that number. Any payment he made would instantly alert her.

Catherine cried in frustration, then quickly switched to a concerned tone. “Lucas, I’m not trying to criticize you, but you’re a grown man. Isn’t it embarrassing to let your wife control every little thing? You don’t even have a penny of your own money. You can’t even pay for a client’s dinner. Doesn’t that humiliate you? You’re the one earning all the money through hard work, yet she controls it so tightly. She really doesn’t think about you at all
