Chapter 426
That was when Vance suddenly realized his phone was missing.
“Your phone is gone? Did you leave it in the car? Go check,” Catherine said, glancing at the laptop Vance had brought with him.
He frowned. “I’ll go take a look.”
He stood up and left the room, taking the laptop with him. She stared at him in disbelief.
Why would he take the laptop just to check the car? How was she supposed to look through his files now? She had thought it would be a good chance.
Before Vance could walk out of the hallway, the door to another private room suddenly opened. Someone clamped a hand over his mouth and dragged him inside, then quickly shut the door.
“Mr. Bradford, please cooperate. We won’t hurt you,” the person whispered behind him.
Meanwhile, Catherine was racking her brain inside the room, trying to figure out her next move.
Just then, someone knocked on the door. “Room service.”
“Come in,” she answered irritably.
A server in a white shirt and bow tie walked in holding a phone. “Excuse me, is this your friend’s phone?
He asked about it at the front desk. We found it for him.”
Catherine looked over and recognized Vance’s phone. Now was her chance.
She nodded quickly. “Yes, that’s his.”
The server was cautious. “Sorry, how can you prove it’s his?”
“Oh, that’s easy.” She pulled out her phone. “I’ll just call him. My number is…”
She recited her number. “When I call, check if it’s my number ringing. He has me saved as Cathy or Cathy Babe.”
She dialed Vance’s number. Sure enough, the phone in the server’s hand rang, showing “Cathy Babe” on
the screen.
Only then did the server believe her and set the phone down.
“Where is he?” Catherine asked, clutching Vance’s phone with a racing heart.
She hoped he wouldn’t come back too soon.
“Oh, he stepped out. Said he was going to check the car.”
“Okay, thank you.”

She hoped the server would leave quickly and stop wasting her time. Once he was gone, she started frantically going through Vance’s phone.
But when she tried the password, it didn’t work. He had changed it.
“What now?” She was already nervous, and now she was completely flustered.
She immediately called Aiden, who thought that changing the password was normal. Otherwise, he would have suspected Vance was setting a trap.
“Try something else,” he suggested.
Catherine tried Vance’s birthday. Still, it was wrong.
“I can’t keep guessing. What if it locks the phone? He might come back any second.”
“Try Rebecca’s birthday. Do you know?”
“I do.”
On Rebecca’s birthday, Vance had posted something on social media for the first time.
She quickly entered Rebecca’s birthday, and the phone unlocked.
“It worked!” she exclaimed, feeling bitter inside.
“Hurry up. Check the files, chat records, emails-anything related to me. Take screenshots and send them to me,” he urged.
She was already looking, but there was nothing.
