Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 429

Chapter 429

For a moment, Catherine thought she was doomed.

Vance had found out everything. He would never let her go.

But to her shock, after a burst of cold laughter, he simply stood up and walked out, leaving her alone in

the private room.

After a brief daze, she quickly called Aiden. “Aiden! What do we do? Vance knows everything! He knows the baby is yours. He knows that I wasn’t that volunteer in high school and that I didn’t fold those paper cranes. What am I supposed to do?”

Aiden hung up without a word. She tried calling him again, only to find he had blocked her number.

Her heart sank to the bottom. “How could this happen? How could things turn out like this? He promised to take care of the baby and me. Said better days are ahead.”

“Aiden, you bastard!” she screamed, but no one would coax her anymore.

Outside the restaurant, Vance realized the servers who had grabbed him earlier had already disappeared.

He smiled wistfully. None of this complicated game was necessary. If she had just asked, he would have done anything for her.

His phone hadn’t been lost by accident. Someone had taken it when he walked in. When he had gone out to look for it, two men had pulled him into another private room.

He had thought it was a robbery, but instead, someone brought his phone back in-the same person who had stolen it while disguised as a server.

They had told him to cooperate, which meant resetting his phone password, resetting his email password, and logging into a new email account on his phone.

The new email wasn’t his. He had no idea what was in it until the phone was returned to him. They had him set a password that was complicated but still something Aiden and Lucas could eventually guess if they tried hard enough.

He used his old gaming account password from college, not sure what they were planning to do, as the fake server took the newly configured phone out.

A short while later, they brought him to the door of the original room and told him he could go back in.

When he walked in, he saw Catherine hunched over his phone on a video call. Only then did he realize that the email they had logged into contained an email from a week ago.

It was an old account full of spam. The only important email was the one titled “Regarding some matters concerning Mr. Hodge.”

It had a long list of attachments with titles that clearly suggested evidence of Aiden’s crimes. The

sender was an unknown address.

Because Vance had returned so quickly, the attachments hadn’t been opened yet, but the titles alone were shocking enough.

When he stepped outside the restaurant, he noticed a car across the street slowly pulling out of its parking spot. He suddenly understood whose car it was, who was inside, and who those so-called servers and kidnappers had really been.

He didn’t know what she was planning, but none of this elaborate scheme had been necessary. All she had to do was call him, and he would cooperate with anything she wanted.

After seeing Vance leave the restaurant, Rebecca turned to the driver. “That’s enough. Let’s go.”

The baby-faced young man was still puzzled. “Ms. Perry, wouldn’t it have been simpler to just send those emails directly to Aiden?”

The whole plan involved so many twists and turns.
