Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 432

Chapter 432

Aiden returned to his seat at the board meeting. Vance’s hospitalization had been confirmed by Lucas, who had visited the hospital.

The directors were worried, asking how Vance was doing.

“He’s still in the hospital. The doctors can’t tell when or if he’ll wake up,” Lucas said anxiously. “But

several important decisions still need his approval, and some critical contracts need his signature. What do we do now?”

Aiden knew the truth: once someone was poisoned with this substance, waking up was almost impossible. At best, they’d be in a deep coma forever.

“Let’s wait for now,” Aiden suggested. “If Mr. Bradford still hasn’t woken up, the board will discuss the way forward together”

Lucas sighed, knowing this was the only way. After all, Vance had no heirs and no designated successor.

Aiden continued, “But some payments and obligations still need to be fulfilled according to the contracts. Shouldn’t we, as vice presidents, sign those for now? Several outsourcing companies are expecting their payment. They’r

small firms that can’t be strung along.”

“No,” Lucas objected immediately. “Any outgoing payment requires Mr. Bradford’s final signature. We can’t do it like this.”

Aiden suppressed his irritation. “He can’t sign anything right now, can he?”

“Didn’t we agree to wait for a few days?” Lucas countered. “He is still in the hospital. We can’t act like he’s already gone.”

They argued fiercely over the matter. Aiden grew frustrated, silently calling Lucas stubborn, pedantic, and downright stupid.

One of the directors spoke up. “Mr. Bradford is ill, yet instead of showing concern, Mr. Hodge seems awfully eager to settle these payments.”

“Yeah!” Lucas echoed.

“I…” Aiden gritted his teeth, silently calling them old fossils. But on the surface, he remained polite. “I’m just worried about our business operations.”

Another director expressed his concern. “And how did Mr. Bradford end up poisoned along with his ex- wife? They’re divorced. He has no contact with them anymore.”

“I’ve no idea.” Aiden shook his head. “Maybe they got back together. Who knows?”

His tone was light and unconcerned.

Catherine had assured him everything was taken care of. Even if the matter was traced, the housekeeper

would confess with a made-up story.

If she were cooperative, Catherine promised to cover all of Cecilia’s living expenses, send the girl abroad to study, and make sure her husband could never find them.

But if she dared to expose them, not only would she go to prison as the poisoner, but Cecilia would be

left alone to sink or swim.

In any case, she would take the fall.

After the meeting, Aiden left the office whistling cheerfully.

He was going to meet Wade, who would take him to a luncheon and press conference at Rossi Enterprises.

Since neither Gabriel nor Vance would be waking up, he had no idea if the company’s plans would change. Anyway, he would make sure things went in his favor.

Whether Rossi Enterprises stayed in Soliaridge or not didn’t matter. He had successfully latched onto Wade and secured a ticket to future cooperation. He just needed to keep this rich, naïve heir on a tight

leash.

According to Wade, Rossi only held a grudge against Vance and welcomed real talent with open arms.

Aiden sneered, no longer needing their acceptance. The real question was whether Rossi Enterprises could even survive the press conference or remain in Soliaridge at all.

A malicious sense of glee surged through him. He had planned to share the boundless fortune with Lucas, but the latter’s attitude had left him cold.

With these complicated feelings, he headed to the venue and entered with his invitation. The moment he walked in, he saw Wade sitting and talking quietly with Hugo, the CEO of Rossi Enterprises. 2
