Chapter 435
The new reporter took the microphone and demanded, “Mr. Rossi once said that his so-called patriotism was just about making money. How do you explain that statement?”
Hugo was taken aback and replied urgently, “No. Mr. Rossi has never said anything like that.”
Hugo could swear that Gabriel had returned out of a sincere desire for his mother to return to her roots. Everyone had a hometown, and his grandmother was still there. The purpose of coming back was to lay a foundation.
If he succeeded, he could give his mother a home she could return to anytime. And if he failed, that would be another story.
But Hugo’s explanation didn’t stop the reporter from pressing, “Really? Returning to his roots? Then please explain why Mr. Rossi said that.”
“He never said it!” Hugo stressed.
Aiden snickered once again. Of course, Rossi had never said that.
It was simply a setup. Sometimes, the truth didn’t matter. A lie told often enough became a fact.
After this press conference, paid trolls would spread the claim and make it a fact.
The officials in the front rows looked increasingly displeased. A good press conference had turned into a mess.
