Chapter 438
Catherine finally fell silent, her eyes pleading with him to save her.
Aiden breathed a sigh of relief, but the officers didn’t leave.
The commotion had already attracted the attention of far too many real reporters. Such explosive audio was far more newsworthy than the press conference itself.
Since it was being livestreamed, the internet had already exploded. The reporters swarmed around Aiden and Catherine, desperate for the scoop and traffic.
“Mr. Hodge, can you tell us what’s going on?”
“Did Miss Welch really try to poison Mr. Bradford’s ex-wife and her family out of jealousy?”
“May I ask how Mr. Rossi and his family are doing now?”
“Mr. Bradford didn’t attend either. Was he also poisoned?”
All kinds of questions flew at them. The microphones were practically shoved into Aiden’s face.
It was a mob, and the officers were almost pushed aside. Catherine wasn’t spared either.
“Miss Welch, why did you instruct the housekeeper to poison Mr. Rossi’s family?”
“Are you and Mr. Bradford together?”
“Do you know why Mr. Bradford didn’t come today?”
Catherine’s mind was in turmoil. She had no idea how to respond and could only look at Aiden for guidance.
“Mr. Bradford, how is your ex-wife’s family doing now?”
“Mr. Bradford…”
Not answering, he just politely asked everyone to make way and walked straight to the stage.
“Mr. Ballard, excuse me. Can I borrow the microphone?” he said humbly.
The emcee handed it to him, and the media’s focus shifted back to the stage. Flashes went off nonstop.
“I’m sorry, everyone,” he began. “Today was supposed to be a good day for Rossi Enterprises, but because of me, so much trouble has been caused, and the launch has been delayed.”
He glanced at Aiden and Catherine, then continued, “Some things need to be clarified. Mr. Ballard just played an audio recording. I also have a recording and a surveillance video. Let’s listen and watch them together.”
