Aiden was dumbfounded, having no idea when Vance had installed those cameras, but it proved Vance had been guarding against him all the time.
What kind of true friends did that?
Catherine was stunned as well. That meant her every move had been captured.
Sure enough, the footage showed her sneaking cautiously through the office, constantly looking around. She added something to the water tank of the purifier and smeared something onto Vance’s cup.
Everything was crystal clear.
Vance held the microphone and explained, “The timestamp is visible. From that moment on, I never returned to the office, and no one else entered. Every frame is intact. I will ask the police to investigate what Miss Welch placed there. Now, please listen to this audio recording.”
A conversation played on.
“Hello, is this your friend’s phone?”
From there, the entire conversation from the night Catherine invited Vance to dinner was played back in full- including how she and Aiden had discussed cracking Vance’s phone password, unlocking his email, and checking its contents.
Her cries faded beneath the wail of the police sirens.
Peace was restored in the hall. The reporters hired by Aiden had slipped away the moment things went south.
On the stage, Vance bowed deeply to everyone. “I know saying sorry won’t fix anything, but this is my fault. It caused a series of terrible consequences, damaged the company’s reputation, and put Mr. Rossi and his family in danger. It was all because of me,”
His voice choked with emotion,
