Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 442

Chapter 442

In truth, they had prepared for someone to cause trouble at the press conference. They had been waiting for it and welcoming the chaos.

How would the law punish someone who incited intentional harm but failed to cause actual injury? It probably wouldn’t be too severe.

But the greater the public impact, the harsher the sentence was likely to be. Not to mention the court of public opinion.

For the past few days, furious condemnation had kept the story trending nonstop. Rebecca just hadn’t expected that Catherine would try to harm even Vance.

Where was the so-called true love? But then again, whether those two loved or hated each other and whether they lived or died no longer concerned her.

Once Gabriel finished handling the company matters, they would fly to Europe. School was about to start; they couldn’t delay any longer.

Rebecca asked Nancy if she wanted to continue working for them. Even though they wouldn’t be living there, the house still needed looking after.

Gabriel would be flying back and forth. He would stay at the house whenever he returned to Soliaridge.

Nancy was more than willing, especially since Cecilia would start commuting to public school. Rebecca allowed the girl to live in the house, which touched Nancy deeply.

So, everything was settled.

On their last day, Rebecca stayed home with Josette, carefully double-checking all the small, scattered items they needed to take.

Vance went to the clinic and waited for her, but she didn’t go there that day. He waited until Edwin finished for the day and came out of the consultation room.

Edwin let out a long breath. “Her family has already come up with a plan. In fact, Mr. Perry has already started the process overseas to open a branch clinic. Even though it’s difficult, he swore to overcome every obstacle and spare no expense. Can you do the same?”

Vance froze, knowing he could not.

He just hadn’t expected Gabriel to go to such lengths, but it was not bad. At least, Rebecca wouldn’t have to suffer anymore.

He smiled bitterly and said goodbye to the doctor. It seemed the rest of his life’s journey would have to be finished alone, but he still desperately wanted to see her one last time.

The next morning, Rebecca set off with Gabriel and Josette.

Nancy stood at the front door, waving tearfully as they departed. Hugo drove them to the airport, and Rebecca had no idea how many bodyguards would be on the same flight.

At the departure hall, she ran into someone unexpected.
