Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 473

Chapter 473

Rebecca had zero interest in Vance’s money, but these three large donations had suddenly been made in her name. She couldn’t just ignore them.

She planned to take him off her blacklist and ask him directly, but when she tried to send a message, a red exclamation mark appeared: [The receiver is not your friend.]

He had deleted her after making those huge donations. She clicked on his profile. The background image was an AI -generated illustration of two hands cradling a fluttering butterfly.

His bio had changed. It now read: [May all blessings in the world belong to her.]

Rebecca thought of Isabelle, who had given birth. Her social media was now filled with baby photos and videos. Rebecca had even sent her a gift recently.

She checked the time difference. Isabelle should be awake, so she sent a greeting. Isabelle replied right away, and they started chatting.

Rebecca asked about the company.

Isabelle explained: [The company has been sold. Lucas has been busy with the handover and final settlement. It’s all finished now. They did receive money from the sale, but Vance didn’t take any of it. He split everything proportionally, and Lucas got the largest share.]

“So, that is how it is? Then, where did the donation money come from?”

Rebecca couldn’t figure it out and decided not to dwell on it. He had already deleted her, and they were truly

strangers now.

That was the ending she had wanted. Still, the donations left her feeling a little pressured.

But at least, it was a good deed. People would benefit from it.

“What are you looking at?” Desmond’s voice came. “We need to head home for dinner.”

He had already started calling Kaitlyn’s house “home.”

When she closed the chat, her movements slowed. He glanced over and caught Vance’s name in the conversation.

His puppy-dog eyes appeared again. “I didn’t mean to peep, but why are you still talking about him?”

She laughed and covered his eyes with her hand. “All right, we’re done talking about him.”

She decided to let it go.

With the deletion, every trace of one another had been erased from their lives. That was that. She should move forward without looking back or overthinking it.

The new semester began, but the festival atmosphere lingered, making it feel like the holiday wasn’t over.

Every day, they still returned to Kaitlyn’s house for dinner, mainly to keep Josette company.

Kaitlyn was waiting for them to discuss dishes for the upcoming gathering. Since it was Josette’s and Rebecca’s first New Year abroad, she was determined to make it lively and traditional.

Desmond’s cooking skills had become highly respected in the house, so Kaitlyn waited for him to help decide the

menu.

Rebecca looked at him with new respect. “Your status in this family is getting pretty high!”

He grinned. “Kaitlyn likes me. That’s all.”

“Don’t get cocky,” Rebecca teased.

He took the menu and carefully discussed it with Kaitlyn until they settled on 12 dishes. He even promised to come over early on that day to cook everything.

“Without you, I’d have to hire a professional chef,” Kaitlyn said gratefully.

She had also been counting on Denise coming, but Desmond waved it off. “Don’t worry about her. She won’t come in a while. School isn’t nearly as important to her as eating.”
