Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 480

Chapter 480

The cake was berry-flavored, loaded with all kinds of fresh berries. It looked delicious, but Rebecca didn’t eat any.

If she did that, Desmond would definitely get jealous and make her eat his homemade cakes for the next whole

month.

So, after singing “Happy Birthday” to Archer with the staff, she quickly pulled Desmond away.

To her surprise, Vance and Anna hadn’t gone far. They were eating pizza at a popular pizza place right next to the clinic.

It was a well-known spot with long lines every day. They had already bought their slices. When Rebecca stepped outside, she saw Vance feeding a piece to Anna.

The girl took a bite, her eyes crinkling. The setting sun bathed the city in a rare golden light that fell across them and lit up her smile. If one didn’t know Vance’s past, the scene would look genuinely sweet and beautiful.

Desmond had parked a bit far away. To reach the car, they had to walk past the pizza shop.

“Let’s go,” Rebecca said, trying to circle behind the queue to avoid awkwardness.

But Desmond took her hand, kept his face stiff, and strode straight past Vance. She sighed without protesting, but that way, Vance couldn’t just pretend he hadn’t seen them.

Vance and Anna stood side by side, each holding pizza. He nodded to them in greeting but said nothing.

Desmond led Rebecca past them, cut through the long queue, and finally reached the parking spot. Vance and Anna stood at the curb, waiting to cross the street.

Desmond pulled up and stopped to let them go first. Pedestrians had the right of way, and he was usually

courteous.

But just as Vance and Anna started to cross and nodded in thanks, Desmond suddenly leaned over and kissed Rebecca on the cheek.

She was looking straight ahead and met Vance’s eyes directly. He gave a faint smile and walked away with Anna.

“Happy now?” she groaned, feeling both helpless and amused.

But that wasn’t enough for Desmond. He pressed, “Do you like mature men or young ones?”

She sighed. “That was the nurse talking, not me.”

He insisted, “Then what kind do you like?”

She held his gaze until he wilted. “Are you mad?”

“I’m not.” She took a deep breath. “I thought you already knew the answer. You’ve been watching me this whole time. Do you really think I would go back to the past?”

He stayed quiet for a long while. “I’m sorry. I was afraid he would keep haunting us.

“He already has a girlfriend, and they seem very happy together,” she said, ruffling his hair. “Stop overthinking it.

He nodded. “You didn’t eat any cake today. I’ll bake one for you when we get home.”

“Sure,” she agreed.

Once at home, he baked a berry cake too-a small, beautiful four-inch one-and presented it to her like a treasure.

Was he really going to compete over this? Or was he still not over it?

This childish side of his was something else, but she decided not to call him out.
