Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 524

Chapter 524

Desmond continued to rehearse seriously. He simply came and went on his own now, no longer walking in or out with Rebecca. And he wasn’t waiting for her or driving her home in the evenings.

Rebecca gradually got used to the new routine. Every night after she finished practicing alone, she would walk to the road outside the school and wait. The bodyguard’s car always appeared right on time.

That day was the final rehearsal before their flight to Edinburgh. She didn’t keep the dancers long. In the afternoon, they simply walked through the blocking once.

Then she sent everyone home early so they could rest before catching their flight the next morning. Desmond left with the rest of the cast.

She packed up her things and headed to the rehab clinic as usual. She planned to grab a quick coffee and something to eat at the nearby café. Before she even stepped inside, she spotted Desmond and Willow through the large glass window.

They were sitting face-to-face, heads close together, talking in low voices. The instant she appeared, Desmond’s gaze flicked in her direction. She wasn’t sure whether he had seen her, but he gave no sign of acknowledgment.

She didn’t go in. Instead, she went straight to the clinic.

After finishing rehab, she returned to the rehearsal hall and did the recovery exercises alone. By the time she was done, it was already late.

She figured Desmond wouldn’t be picking her up, so she slung her bag over her shoulder and started walking toward the campus gate.

She never expected to run into four drunk guys just before she reached the street.

“Hey!” they whistled. “Hey, sweetheart! You often walk home alone like this? Don’t you get lonely?”

Her heart lurched as she realized these people had been watching her. She quickened her pace and pulled out her phone, preparing to call Aaron.

“Don’t let her make that call! Grab her!” one shouted.

She ran as fast as she could, but she couldn’t outrun the four big men. They caught her and started dragging her away in the opposite direction.

She screamed a few times before a rough hand clamped over her mouth. A wave of helpless terror washed over her.

She had finished earlier than usual. If it had been later, Aaron and the others might have sensed that something

was wrong.

They dragged her into an empty classroom. By then, her bag, her phone, and her dance clothes had all been torn off and scattered along the way. Her T-shirt was ripped at the collar from the way they had pinned her down while she fought desperately.

She fought with everything she had. She ran between desks and chairs, grabbing and throwing anything within

reach.

But she was outnumbered. They eventually slammed her down onto a desk.

She screamed with the last of her strength. “Let me go! Help!”

Disgusting faces hovered over her. Filthy hands yanked at her clothes and pants. She was truly in despair until a

furious voice cut through the air. “Let her go!”

The repulsive face above her suddenly disappeared, replaced by Vance’s. In the middle of her terror, she froze for a split second.

Vance turned, shielding her with his body, and roared at the four men, “Get out of here right now! The police are on their way!”

Rebecca snapped back to reality and saw hope of escaping. But the four men didn’t take Vance seriously at all.
