Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 525

Chapter 525

The four men sneered, telling Vance not to butt in with his slim build.

Vance was tall and lean, and over the past year, he had grown even thinner. In a real fight, he stood no chance against four grown men. Still, he positioned himself firmly between them and Rebecca.

“Run at any opening,” he told her urgently. “As fast as you can.”

Rebecca managed to stand, but her entire body was trembling. She stayed behind him, ready to bolt the moment a gap appeared, knowing she would only be a burden if she remained.

Getting out and calling Aaron or the police was the only way to save them both. But it was not easy for two people to outmaneuver four.

Every time she spotted an opening and tried to dash for it, one of the men would block her path. Finally, the four charged at once. One knocked the chair out of Vance’s hands, while two others grabbed him, and the fourth lunged around him straight for Rebecca.

In the nick of time, Vance spun around and shielded her with every inch of his body. Fists and kicks rained down mercilessly on him.

“Vance!” Rebecca cried out in alarm.

“Don’t worry, they’re not going to kill me,” he grunted through gritted teeth, covering her as he tried to edge them both toward the door. “Hold on. They’ll be here any second!”

Something hot dripped onto her neck. At first, she didn’t realize what it was. Then a drop landed on her arm, and she saw it was blood.

“Vance…”

“I’m fine, don’t worry.”

Another trickle of blood fell, and then a sharp scream rang out. It belonged to one of four men.

Vance heard it, too. He turned with her still wrapped in his arms and saw that Aaron and the other bodyguards had finally arrived.

“They’re here. We’re safe now.” He quickly moved them both aside.

Aaron and his team were professionals. They subdued the four men in seconds and immediately called the police.

Only then did Vance finally let Rebecca go.

They were both wearing black T-shirts, so the blood barely showed. Even now, his nose was still bleeding.

She reached out and held her hand under his chin. Warm blood dripped steadily into her palm.

He awkwardly turned his head away. “It’s nothing. Just a nosebleed. I’ll stuff in some cotton. Aaron, you got any cotton balls or tissues in the car? Let me plug it up.”

Aaron gave him a long, meaningful look. “Yeah.”

“Let’s get to the car,” Vance said quickly.

Rebecca sat in the car, still reeling from the raw terror of the attack and the dramatic rescue. She couldn’t process everything that had just happened.

Aaron handed Vance the cotton balls. “Do you need to go to the hospital?”

He shook his head. “It’s fine. Take Rebecca home first. She had a bad scare tonight. She needs to rest.”

And so, Aaron drove straight to her house.

“Okay, we’re here,” Vance said once they pulled up. “You can get out now.”

Rebecca was still in a daze, her body trembling slightly.

Vance got out and walked around to open her door. “Come on. Look, I’m perfectly fine, Go inside and get some sleep. I’ll head home and rest, too.”
