Chapter 570
“Lately, I often don’t know whether I’m in a dream or in reality,” Vance sighed. “Rebecca asked me before why I suddenly wanted to follow Darren’s route.
“You never told me why either,” Anna said, thinking he would explain now, but he didn’t.
He only smiled, his gaze drifting far into the distance, as if on that coastal highway a rugged off–road vehicle might really com speeding toward them.
Rebecca had stayed in the village for six days. Every day was spent visiting elderly traditional dancers, listening to their re abou: the inheritance and details of their art, learning their steps, and performing her own dances for them.
Just as Darren had written, this place could make people forget the outside world. But they couldn’t stay here forever. Eventually, they had to move on to the next stop.
After participating in the weekly session and making friends with many top dancers, they decided to set off again.
On their last evening, Rebecca danced with her friends until late. When she returned to the guesthouse, she joined Uriah, Heather, Vance, and Anna for another meal.
“Wishing you a smooth journey ahead,” Vance said, pretending they were barely acquaintances as he raised his glass to everyone.
Of course, he also clinked glasses with Rebecca.
“Our paths will separate from here,” he added, speaking to the whole group.
Rebecca’s team was heading to more villages with dance traditions. Vance and Anna would continue following Darren’s route i a different direction.
“I wonder if we’ll run into each other again,” Heather said, her emotions loosened by alcohol.
Over the past week, they had eaten together every evening and sometimes danced together at the pub. Plus, she had always loved the desserts from the cookie house, so meeting them here felt like fate.
“We will!” Vance said with absolute certainty.
Heather smiled. “Yeah, we’ll see each other back in Paris anyway.”
