Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 595

The New Year was approaching.

Even though they were living abroad, for the Perry family, the holiday rere ained the most important festival of the year

It was especially true for Josette. During this season, she insisted on following all the traditional custums from back home These were things the hired help at Kaitlyn’s house didn’t know how to do, so the whole family all pitched in to help her. Rebecca hadn’t started school yet, so she had plenty of time to assist Josette. They baked batches of cookies, strung up decorations around the windows, and even pulled out an old hand mixer to make dough for a homemade apple pie.

No one complained, “We can just buy premium imported stuff. Why bother making anything ourselves?” or “You can pick up ready–made desserts at any grocery store. Why go through all that trouble?”

Everyone just humored her traditions and enjoyed the process. Gabriel became fascinated with the old hand–crank grinder. He even looked up tutorials online and one morning got up early to try it himself–making fresh soy milk

After one sip, he couldn’t stop raving. “This is on another level. It tastes so much better than those sold in the supermarket” Josette grinned from ear to ear. That night, she cooked a simple dish using the leftover pulp. Gabriel was wide–eyed. “What is this? I’ve never had anything like it.”

He ended up eating almost half the plate. Rebecca felt warm inside. Having a family who never rained on fer parade was truly a blessing.

The busy preparations proceeded in an orderly fashion. Rebecca’s and Josette’s daily routines were regular–supermarket to home, mall to home, and market to home.

One day, after shopping at the mall, Rebecca and Josette took the elevator down to the underground parking lot. That was when Rebecca’s phone rang with a call from Anna.
