Chapter 623
So, whether this was real or not, there were two things kebecca had to do.
One was to stop her younger self from liking Vance. The other was to stop Vance from Hiking Catherine.
That way, he wouldn’t spiral after losing Catherine. She wouldn’t get into a car accident trying to save him. They wouldn’t get married, and he wouldn’t have to save her later.
Even if it was just a dream, she would do her best every single day she spent in it. Who knew? She might really rewrite history.
Her dreams over the past few days had jumped around–sometimes before graduation, sometimes during Vance’s grandmother’s illness, and sometimes right at the start of freshman year.
This time, she had returned to an earlier stage when nothing major had happened. Vance’s grandmother wasn’t sick, and Catherine hadn’t appeared yet. There was still time to change things.
The arts–science stream selection was coming up soon. In the original timeline, she had stupidly chosen the science stream even though she wanted to pursue arts, so she could be in the same class as Vance.
She knew the college admission system had changed in later years, but in this era, the division between arts and science was strict. Many dance academies and programs didn’t accept science students.
She had chosen it anyway, quietly doing her research. Since Vance planned to attend a local university in Soliaridge, she figured she could find an arts program there that accepted science students.
But everyone knew how limiting that choice was.
Her dance teachers had been shocked because it cut her off from the top program at the prestigious Arelmoor Dance Academy.
But she had insisted.
If she could do it over, she wouldn’t make the same mistake. She would firmly choose arts. So, when Josette asked her that weekend, she answered without hesitation, “I’m choosing arts
Josette would support whatever she picked and had only asked to chat. As the two of them were talking, her phone buzzed with a
message.
Darren: [We’re going to be in the same class!]
Of course, he had chosen arts, too.
At the start of the next week, she ran into Darren outside the school again. He called out to her and ran over. “Rebecca, why
r didn’t you reply to my message? We’re about to be classmates!”
Everyone had assumed a dance student like her would naturally choose arts. But in the original timeline, she had shocked everyone by picking science.
“When you asked, I hadn’t decided yet, so I forgot to reply,” she explained.
“So, what did you pick? It’s decided, right?” Darren looked at her with an expression that said there was only one possible
answer.
“Of course, she picked science,” a voice cut in.
Vance pushed his way between them.
Darren looked amused. “You want her to pick science when she dances?”
