Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 628

Chapter 628

“Good thing your foundation wasn’t too bad. If you work hard…” Vance continued as they reached the bulletin board.

It was already surrounded by students chattering about which class everyone was in. Cheers erupted whenever good friends ended up together.

Rebecca ignored the science section and went straight to the arts list.

“Hey, where are you going?” Vance started, then suddenly realized something and followed her.

On the list for the Arts Experimental Class 1, he saw Rebecca’s name.

“You lied to me?” His voice carried a chill that felt icy even in the summer heat.

Then silence. By the time she turned around, he was already gone.

Darren walked over, laughing. “Rebecca, we really are in the same class!”

His name was also on the Arts Experimental Class 1 list.

“I’ll treat you to dinner today to celebrate!” he exclaimed.

She didn’t agree.

Darren always talked about owing her a meal, but it wasn’t really a big deal. Besides, her parents had called, telling her to join them at a restaurant that evening to celebrate the stream selection and set an example for Emmett.

She didn’t go, aware of the scheme behind that meal. The same thing happened in the original timeline.

They had barely paid attention to her growing up. Whenever they reached out, it was never for anything good.

“I said she…” Soren caught himself at Adeline’s signal, finally remembering the purpose of their visit.

Rebecca stepped protectively in front of Josette and laughed coldly. “He called me a wretch. I wonder who gave birth to me?”

“How dare you talk back!” Soren slammed his fork down.

The teenage Rebecca would have been terrified. But the current Rebecca wasn’t afraid at all.

If he hit her, she would hit back. If she couldn’t win, she’d grab a chair or a plate. In the worst case, there were knives in the kitchen.

She had no problem going crazy if needed. But Soren held back. Pulled by Adeline, he sat down with a dark expression. “Becky, why would you say that about yourself” Adeline mediated,

“When did I say it about myself? Rebecca snorted. “He called me a wretch. I just wanted to know why.”
