“Yeah. You’ll be like a monkey in a zoo. The whole grade will come to watch you. Imagine how embarrassing that would be,” Jethro echoed.
For a moment, everyone except Rebecca and Darten started trying to persuade Vance.
“Why are you guys more anxious about me getting punished than I am?” Vance said decisively. “I choose Dare.”
“Alright.” Jethro and Jenny sat back defeated.
But they refused to give up. They kept playing with determination, trying to make the melon fand on Vance again. Finally, after several rounds, they succeeded.
“Is the girl you like in our class?” Jethro asked quickly.
Vance answered just as fast. “No.”
Now, even Rebecca wondered who it was. He had liked Catherine, but he hadn’t met her yet in this timeline.
She then brushed it off. As long as it wasn’t Catherine or her, that was fine. She simply wished him and whoever he liked a long and peaceful life together.
Jethro swallowed the follow–up question. “Who is it?”
He gritted his teeth and kept playing. But this time, no matter when the music stopped, the melon never landed on Vance again. Once, it landed on Rebecca.
Jenny, being Rebecca’s best friend, naturally wouldn’t ask anything embarrassing. She jumped in first. “What university do you dream of attending?”
The question was met with boos and protests for playing favorites.
Amused, Rebecca answered slowly, “Arelmoor Dance Academy.”
Everyone groaned. “Boring! Jenny, you can’t protect her like that!”
“Fine. You all just want to know who I like the most, right?” Rebecca said.
Jethro’s attention was instantly captured. “Yeah! You’re willing to answer? You really like someone?”
“Why not?” she said generously. “Of course, I do.”
Darren and Vance turned to look at her at the same time.
“Is he here right now?” Jethro asked, narrowing the scope.
“Yes,” Rebecca answered openly.
Jethro’s gaze immediately locked onto Vance, his eyes sparkling with gossip. “Do you dare say who it is?”
“Yes.” Rebecca shrugged. “I’ll confess right now.”
Vance’s hands at his sides clenched into fists.
Rebecca reached over and draped her arm around Jenny’s shoulders. “The person I like the most is obviously the one who always protects me!”
She planted a kiss on Jenny’s cheek, making Jenny beam with happiness.
“You…” Jethro was rendered speechless. “You’re cheating! Jenny’s a girl!”
