Chapter 674
In the end, reason prevailed: Lebecca was too good to be burt.
“But they really are a good match,” Denise admitted, unable to deny that the two were both possessive and clingy. “They should just lock each other down.”
Anyone else would suffer if paired with either of them. Only together did they perfectly balance each other’s intensity.
The afternoon tea was warm and pleasant.
Although she had only been “away” for three months, Rebecca felt as if decades had passed. The friends she saw and the news she heard felt like echoes from a previous life.
Knowing Desmond was doing well brought her quiet relief.
She visited Archer at the clinic and shared her condition. It was something he had never encountered before.
“What were your brain cells doing during those three months?” he asked, deeply fascinated. “Were you conscious at all?”
Rebecca was unsure how to explain that she had lived through her high–school years again, as if reliving her past life.
Archer sensed her hesitation. “Whenever you’re ready to talk about it, I’m here. I don’t have a treatment, but I suspect it’s far more than simple sleep.”
Rebecca recalled Gabriel’s words about the end of science being mysticism. She thought that if she were to return to her dreams again, she would visit a church.
For the rest of the week, she focused on dance practice and catching up with friends. Life gradually settled back into its rhythm.
She also took her time responding to the numerous emails that had accumulated in her inbox. Just two days before her trip to Ireland, she stumbled upon an email from two months ago.
The email address was something she couldn’t be more familiar with.
She asked for the exact address. Gabriel sighed but gave it to her.
She had experienced so many ups and downs and even traversed her past life in that dream. Now she was uncertain about her feelings.
Did she hate him? Not as fiercely as before.
Did she need to see him? Yes. That answer was absolute.
She wondered what he was like now. Had he recovered? Or was he still struggling, like she had been, to regain his full functionality?
He had promised to visit Archer for rehabilitation If his legs didn’t heal properly. The fact that he had never done so spoke volumes.
Was it a good or bad sign?
