Chapter 683

Tears streamed down Rebecca’s face. “You’re really here, aren’t you? This is the real you.”

The 17-year-old boy couldn’t understand the weight behind her words. He answered gently, “Yeah, I’m right here.”

He pulled out the tissue and wiped away her tears, his voice softening further. “I’ve always been here.

“I’m right here. I didn’t disappear.” He curled his fingers around her wrists, gently prying her hands away from her face. “You can come back anytime. I won’t go anywhere.”

She stared at his youthful face, her words trapped in her throat.

“C’mon, take a bite,” he said, holding the spoon out to her. “It will make you feel better.”

When she didn’t move, he glanced around. Except for the shop owner, there was no one else around them. So, he scooped a spoonful of shaved ice and held it to her lips. “Just this once. Don’t get used to it.
