Chapter 684
“Let’s get you to the hospital,” Vance offered, getting up.
“I’m fine now,” Rebecca said quickly, picking up the spoon. “The cold stuff helped you a lot.”
Jethro’s shaved ice and Jenny’s iced coffee were served. The four of them sat together eating their cold treats.
Jenny brought up their plans for the next day. “Tomorrow is Saturday. As we agreed, we’re heading to Lakeside Church. You two are not bailing on me this time.”
“Lakeside Church?” Rebecca echoed.
“Yep!” Jenny’s eyes brightened. “Come with us. It’s been forever since you joined anything.”
Just earlier, Vance mentioned Rebecca hadn’t spoken to him in a year. She had no idea what had happened in her absence, but Lakeside Church was where she had once consecrated Darren’s stone.
She wanted to go check it out if she could wake up here tomorrow morning.
“Call me in the morning,” she replied.
If she weren’t here tomorrow, everything would not be under her control.
“Great!” Jenny beamed. “As long as you’re feeling up to it tomorrow, we’ll go.”
“What are you guys even going to church for?” Rebecca probed.
