Chapter 722
There were only about ten minutes left until the evening study hall began. Still deeply shaken and worried about R safety after the ambush, Jenny insisted on accompanying her to the arts classroom.
Rebecca’s seat assignment for the week happened to be right next to the window. The glass pane was tightly shut, a bit suffocated by the heavy air in the room, Rebecca slid the window open to catch a breath of fresh air.
That was when her eyes locked onto the scene unfolding on the ground below. She couldn’t hear what they were say saw Catherine standing in front of Vance, wiping away tears
“That idiot! Don’t tell me he’s falling for her act again,” Jenny muttered, then bolted out of the room before Rebecca her.
Down below, the two were still standing face-to-face. Then suddenly, Catherine lunged forward and threw herself in arms.
Rebecca was disgusted and moved to sit down when a thunderous roar came from below.
“What the hell are you doing? Have you no shame?”
It was Jenny. She was fast.
Startled by the aggressive shout, the two figures sprang apart instantly. Jenny charged forward, her arm raised to hit Ca That was for Catherine shamelessly instructing Beatrice to assault Rebecca in the stalls.
But Vance intercepted her mid-motion.
“Let me go! Do you even know what she’s done? And you’re still protecting her?” Jenny bellowed. “If you keep this up, it just be us falling out. We’ll be enemies for life! Rebecca and I will never forgive you!”
Jenny had been holding everything in since that morning. The bathroom incident had further pushed her to the limit. Now, Vance’s attitude made her erupt like a volcano.
The second her hands were free, she slapped him across the face. The sound echoed loudly, and the whispers in the building instantly died out.
“I mean what I say!” Jenny pointed at him. “As of this second, we’re done! I will never forgive you!”
Vance reached for her but missed. He called out, but she kept running. He sprinted and grabbed the back of her uniform-only for her to wrench herself free, tears already streaming down her face.
“Do you even know what happened today?” Her voice cracked as she tought back sobs. “Do you know what Rebecca went through?
“When she needed her friends the most, you disappeared all day. And when you finally show up, you’re hugging the started all of this! I hate you!”
