Fluffy Mates Chase Their Boss on Survival Show novel Chapter 385

Chapter 385 Tell Me Something Useful

Forget everything else-Leonard couldn’t hold back anymore.

Tears streamed down his face, his expression raw with grief.

“Y-You’ll be fine, Roger. Taylor and the others will be here any minute now,” he stammered, his voice trembling, his lips pale.

Roger, watching Layla and her team hold their position instead of pressing the attack, showed a flicker of surprise.

He leaned closer to Leonard, his voice dropping to a pained whisper. “We can’t win this fight. You need to get out of here.”

Shaking his head fiercely, Leonard said, “I’m not leaving. We’ve been apart long enough. Where you go. I go… even if it’s to our graves.”

The scene wasn’t lost on Layla. A touch of sympathy stirred within her.

Were they not on opposite sides, she might have admired such fierce loyalty between brothers.

Liam and Emily, however, had seen this kind of melodrama play out countless times before.

Unmoved, Liam raised his weapon, aiming it squarely at Leonard. “If you want to stay breathing, cooperate.”

Seeing the threat to his brother, Roger tried to struggle to his feet, only to be firmly pushed back down by Leonard.

Deep down, Leonard knew the jig was up. Further resistance was pointless.

His gaze locked onto Layla. “Will you spare our lives?”

Layla frowned, studying him. “Why would I kill you?”

So far, Leonard had merely followed Stella’s lead, causing trouble but not crossing the line into taking lives.

Roger, however, was a different story.

Her cool eyes shifted to the wounded Roger. “If you want your brother to live, start talking. Tell me something useful.”

Given a chance to save Leonard, Roger didn’t hesitate. “The real main force hasn’t arrived yet. These three were just scouts, testing your defenses.”

Layla wasn’t surprised.

They were up against seasoned interstellar pirates. These were veterans who had seen far more combat than Liam and Emily put together.

Of course they wouldn’t come charging in blindly after a single signal.

With a nod, Layla motioned for Liam to lower his weapon. She crouched down, bringing herself eye-level

with the two brothers.

The equal footing was deliberate, meant to ease their guard.

Her stare remained fixed on Roger, unwavering. “So when is this main force expected?”

Roger’s face grew paler by the second, his voice weakening, but he forced the words out.

“They’ll only move on Planet A13 once the vanguard sends the signal. He took a labored breath. “If I had to guess… the vanguard captain this time is probably Thomas Keene.”

At the mention of the name, Layla caught the flash of pure hatred in Leonard’s eyes.

Interesting. Even among pirates, there’s no love lost.

A faint smile touched Layla’s lips. “I’ll let you go.”

Roger’s eyes widened in disbelief, but understanding quickly dawned, twisting his mouth into a bitter smirk “Layla, you’re the sharpest woman I’ve ever met. It’s a real shame…”

He left the thought hanging, but Layla could finish it herself.

“Not a shame. We were never meant to walk the same path,” she replied calmly.

A self-mocking glint appeared in Roger’s eyes. “If you’d grown up in our world, you might not be so sure.”

But Layla’s conviction was absolute. “No. In any world, my path would never have crossed yours with you two on it.”

Before her transmigration, she had survived a brutal apocalypse. Yet she had kept her conscience clear, never attacking others unless provoked.

Here, while the original host’s upbringing was harsh, it was still a step above sheer apocalypse survival.

She shook her head with certainty. “Roger, no circumstances would have made us allies.”
