Chapter 390 Half of Planet A13
Liam caught Layla’s intent instantly.
Together, they lunged at the hyena, aiming for its belly and head in a coordinated strike
Success was within grasp when a sharp whistle cut the air. An arrow embedded itself into the ground between them and their target, forcing a hasty retreat.
Layla pulled Liam back, her gaze snapping toward the projectile’s origin.
There stood Taylor, a slow, mocking clap echoing in the tense silence. A smirk played on his lips. “Color the impressed, General Hartwell. You and your female never fail to surprise.”
Layla met his gaze, a cold smile curling her own lips. “Showing your face here? You’ve got guts, I’ll that.”

Taylor’s smug expression vanished, replaced by a glare that fixed on the figure being dragged behind Layl -Mia.
Taylor gritted his teeth, his voice a venomous hiss. “How dare you treat her this way?”
Layla took a deliberate step back, her fingers closing around Mia’s throat. A cold, mocking smile touched her lips as she held Taylor’s gaze.
“We had a simple understanding: stay out of each other’s way. But you chose to bring your chaos to Planet A13. Who’s really asking for trouble here?” She gave Mia a slight shake. “Wasn’t she sent here on your orders? None of this would be happening if you’d just left well enough alone.”
A flicker of panic crossed Taylor’s eyes before he snarled, “Don’t you dare try to twist this!”
Layla simply scoffed, glancing back at Mia, “See? Typical. He puts you in harm’s way, then gets mad when someone points it out.”
Mia looked up, her eyes clouded with a turmoil of emotions.
At the sight of her doubtful eyes, Taylor’s composure cracked further.
He raised a hand, words of explanation forming on his lips.
Seizing the opening, Layla moved.
Her attack was swift and utterly unexpected.
Taylor barely managed to deflect, but not before her blade carved a deep gash across his cheek.
Staggering back, he touched the wound, his fingers coming away stained crimson.
Pure, unadulterated fury burned in his eyes. “You actually attacked me?”
Layla feigned wide-eyed disbelief.
“Seriously? You roll up with military-grade interstellar weapons, and you’re questioning me for throwing

the first punch? Is your brain on vacation?”
The blunt mockery pushed Taylor over the edge.
“You’ll regret this!” he spat, teeth clenched.
With a sharp gesture, a dozen interstellar pirates emerged from the surrounding shadows, encircling Layla and her companions.
Unfazed, Layla casually blew imaginary dust from her fingertips. “You think this ragtag bunch is enough to
take us down?”
Oliver and Liam instantly flanked her, their stances defensive and warning clear in their eyes.
Taylor’s scornful gaze landed on Liam. “Never thought I’d see the day the great Starfleet General was content to share his woman.”
Liam, however, didn’t rise to the bait.
A light, derisive laugh escaped him. “At least I’m with the one I want. Can you say the same?”
The barb struck home.
With a roar, Taylor launched himself at Liam.
Oliver was there in an instant, intercepting the blow.
Taking to the skies, Layla shifted mid-air, her majestic wings sending a hail of razor-sharp feathers downward.
The pirates scrambled, dodging the aerial assault only to be met by Liam and Oliver’s relentless attacks.
In under thirty minutes, Taylor’s crew lay defeated across the ground.
As Taylor surveyed the wreckage of his forces, his expression turned glacial. “I was going to be merciful. But since you’re determined to be difficult, you leave me no choice.”
He raised his hand high. A low hum vibrated through the air as a small, sleek starship descended from the clouds.
