Fluffy Mates Chase Their Boss on Survival Show novel Chapter 393

Chapter 393 Let Them Go

Finished

Though it felt slightly underhanded, Stella was the one who had crossed the line first. Any lack of mercy now was hardly Layla’s fault.

Leonard let out a soft chuckle. “What’s in it for me if I help you?”

Layla blinked, a knowing glint in her eye. “A chance to redeem yourself, of course. Unless you fancy a stint in the brig yourself?”

Her words gave Leonard pause. His gaze flickered as he weighed his options.

Finally, with a firm nod, he conceded. “Fine. You’ve got a deal. Take me to the production crew then.”

Layla merely shook her head, waving a dismissive hand. “Not now.”

The Grant family still held significant influence. Even with Leonard’s testimony, forcing Stella out of the show and out of their lives wouldn’t be straightforward.

She was playing a longer game.

If you want to make the devil dance, you must first give him the stage.

Shifting her attention, Layla’s eyes settled on Roger. “Keeping your brother alive on Planet A13 shouldn’t be too difficult, right?”

Roger stared, disbelief plain on his face. “You’re not letting the guards take me in?”

Layla spread her hands wide in a gesture of mock helplessness. “If you’re dead set on three square meals behind bars, who am I to stop you?”

Roger instantly took a step back, his voice a mixture of relief and urgency. “I promise. My brother and I will keep to ourselves on A13. We won’t cause you any trouble.”

Layla wasn’t convinced by promises alone.

A thoughtful gleam entered her eyes as she turned to Liam. “Any way to ensure they stick to their word?”

Understanding immediately, Liam gave a slight nod.

He retrieved a small item from Noah and tossed it to Layla.

She caught it and offered the small bottle to Roger.

Liam’s explanation came from behind her. “Swallow that capsule. It contains a microchip. We’ll know everything you do.”

The meaning was clear: Roger would live under their surveillance from that moment on.

Anger flashed in Leonard’s eyes. “My brother isn’t your property! You can’t treat him like this!”

Ignoring the protest, Roger tipped his head back and swallowed the capsule without hesitation.

Meeting Layla’s gaze squarely, he asked, “Satisfied?”

His protectiveness toward Leonard even surprised Layla.

She regarded him for a moment, letting out a soft, appreciative sound. “Alright then. You’ve got guts. You can go. No one will give you any grief.”

Without another word, Roger grabbed Leonard’s arm and hurried away, disappearing into the landscape.

Watching them leave, Liam moved to Layla’s side, slipping an arm around her shoulders.

A trace of worry colored his tone. “Are you sure letting them go was the right move?”

Layla glanced up, a playful smirk touching her lips. “Lacking confidence in your own tech?”

Liam chuckled, ruffling her hair gently, “I just didn’t expect you to use them like that.”

“Perfectly practical. General Hartwell, don’t you have any… official objections to me releasing them?” Layla stated frankly.

Liam considered it. “Leonard was an accomplice, but his crimes aren’t severe enough to warrant immediate detention. Roger, however, is a high-risk individual. We’ll need to stay vigilant.”

He paused, the tension easing from his frame. The capsule provided at least some measure of control.

His expression softened as he looked at Layla, his eyes warm.

Meeting his gaze, Layla stretched her arms above her head with a carefree yawn. “Danger’s passed for now. Have the troops inform the others. Let’s head back to the production camp.”

She took the lead, Liam and his men falling into step behind her.

Upon reaching the production camp, Layla immediately spotted Stella, who looked thoroughly shaken.

The sight of Layla alive and well made Stella’s eyes widen in shock. The words slipped out before she could stop them. “Y-You’re alive?”
