Chapter 394 Crisis Over
Layla surveyed the campsite. While most structures had withstood the interstellar pirates’ bombardment, the assault had left its scars.
Her gaze settled on Fiona, who flinched the moment their eyes met, bracing for the storm she knew would follow.
Steeling herself, Fiona approached with a tentative, placating smile. “Look, about what happened-
Layla cut her off with a raised hand. “I know it wasn’t your doing.”
Fiona stared, disbelief washing over her features.
A surviving Vanguard drifted into view.
Glancing up, Layla saw the live chat flooding with demands for Michael to face consequences.
She rubbed her temples, her cool stare shifting back to Fiona, whose brief relief vanished. “What did Michael do just now?”
Fiona’s smile froze.
She took a hesitant step back, shooting a conflicted glance at Michael, who remained silent.
Layla said, her voice flat, “I’m giving you a chance to explain. If I have to find out from the live chat what he did, then-
“He didn’t mean any harm! He only gave up Prof. Slater to protect everyone here!” Fiona blurted, stepping
forward.
“I see,” Layla replied. A cold, humorless smile touched her lips as she looked past Fiona toward Michael in the distance.
“From today on, I don’t want to see him anywhere near this show. As the director, you have the authority to make that happen, don’t you, Ms. Myers?”
It wasn’t a question but a command, delivered with the unshakeable authority of a natural leader.
Fiona could only nod vigorously. “Understood. I’ll handle it.”
She walked over to Michael, struggling for words.
He spoke first, his tone resigned, “I heard what she said. I’ll pack up and head back. You take care of yourself
out here.”
Fiona’s eyes grew teary, a pang of sadness hitting her, but she nodded.
There was no way around it-Michael’s betrayal of Shane had played out for the entire network to see.
The live chat erupted in approval of Layla’s decisive action.
[Layla’s just got that boss energy!]

[With Michael gone, this show might actually be peaceful!]
Tod you he was shady. Probably had back-channel deals with the Grant family all along.]
Layla observed the digital backlash with detached calm before turning-and meeting Carson’s steady gaze.
The group had reassembled.
A wave of genuine relief washed over her, softening her features into a warm smile as she moved to his side “You alright?” she asked softly.
Carson nodded, reaching out to gently brush a strand of hair from her face. “You’re not hurt?”
Beaming, Layla held up her hands. “Not a scratch. Barely broke a sweat.”
A tender warmth flickered in Carson’s eyes, and a quiet chuckle escaped him.
His scan of the area confirmed no casualties, easing a silent worry.
Yet Oliver’s absence stood out.
“Wasn’t Prince Oliver with us when we got back?” Layla wondered, following his gaze.
Liam spoke up, “He went to talk with the Galactic Guard behind the production crew’s camp. Probably royal business.”
