We’re Home Now
While Abril watched the colorful flowers twinkling in the sky, she made a wish, hoping that this
moment would last forever.
In the following days, Abril and Alessandro were very busy attending to the ambassadors who had
come. Their visit was not only to congratulate the queen on her pregnancy, but they also used the opportunity to strengthen their ties and create new alliances.
When the last day of the festival arrived, Alessandro announced that there would be no audiences or meetings that day, and that everyone should enjoy the festival as they wished. The nobles who wanted to approach the royal family didn’t like this, but none complained.
That day, Alessandro wanted to spend it with Abril, showing her the city, which was bustling with
life and color because of the festival.
As they headed to the city, Abril looked very excited, taking in everything around her. Wanting to enjoy the festival without interruptions, they both used a magical artifact to change their appearance. Abril looked like a young commoner with light brown hair, although her eyes remained golden, the only thing she couldn’t change. Alessandro looked at her and said, “You haven’t gone
back to having blonde hair?”
“No, I already physically resemble my mother. With blonde hair, it’s as if I were her. Even though the
elves have withdrawn, I wouldn’t want to risk it; any of them might be around and mistake me for
her.”
Alessandro remembered that this issue was still unresolved.
“You’re right, Ethan and Dantriel promised to hide your existence, but it’s best to remain cautious.”
Upon reaching the city entrance, they had to get down from the carriage, as the streets were crowded with people. Alessandro got down first and helped Abril down, they held hands and
walked through the streets. There were numerous street performers and makeshift stalls offering
food, fruits, sweets, exotic clothes, and beautiful jewelry.
Abril noticed that there were actually many foreigners wearing strange clothes. She stopped to
look at a group of ladies dressed in linen clothes and wearing a scarf to cover their heads.
“What kingdom are they from?”
She asked curiously. Alessandro replied, “They are from the kingdom of Lisa.”
“I see many foreigners in the city.”
“Many of them have come with the ambassadors from other kingdoms.”
“But none of the ambassadors dressed like that.”

“That’s because their attire was according to the kingdom’s etiquette, but in each kingdom, clothes and customs change.”
Abril remembered that during her classes with Gabril, he had also mentioned this. Abril smelled a delicious aroma of food in the air, and her mouth watered.
“I’m hungry, let’s eat something.”
“Of course.”
Alessandro approached one of the food stalls and bought skewers of meat, giving one to Abril. When she tasted it, she felt it was the most delicious thing she had ever tried; the meat was tender and marinated with various spices, making its flavor wonderful. Seeing her eat with such
satisfaction, Alessandro gave her his skewer, which she devoured immediately, and made him buy
two more.
Abril was excited about trying new foods, dragging Alessandro to each food stall and sampling a bit of everything.
“Honey, don’t you think you’re eating too much?”
“Don’t worry, I’m eating for two now, I’m fine.”
Abril kept eating until she couldn’t eat anymore, but that didn’t stop her from buying more; she wanted to take all those delights to the palace. After visiting all the stalls, Abril began to feel her feet tired. Alessandro, noticing this, signaled to one of the guards in the crowd to take everything they had bought to the carriage and picked Abril up in his arms.
“What are you doing?”
“We’ve walked a lot, you need to rest.”
“And that’s why you’re carrying me?”
“Yes, we’ll tour the festival this way, so you can rest
“Don’t do that, let’s sit by the fountain. After resting for a while, we can continue walking down the streets.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, besides, I don’t think we can tour the city this way; there are too many people, and it’s hard to move.”
Realizing Abril was right, Alessandro carried her to nearby fountain where they sat down to rest. Abril looked around and said, “Maya and Cassian would have liked to come; we should have invited them.”
“Don’t worry about those two. From what I understand, they’ve been to the city more than once

and if we had invited them, they probably would have declined, as they also want to spend time
alone.”
Since returning from the land of the fairies, Cassian and Maya have spent all their time together, and they rarely spent time with us because, according to Cassian, they had to make up for all the
lost time. Abril sighed and said,
“You’re right, they were separated for a long time and although for Cassian it was only a few months, for Maya it was years. I can’t imagine how painful that must have been for her.”
“I think that’s why Cassian just wants to be alone with her, even though he doesn’t say it, I know he
feels guilty about everything Maya had to go through. I hope that when they leave, they can make
up for all the time they lost.”
“What? They’re leaving?”
“I didn’t tell you, Cassian will leave the palace and go to his territory after the festival.”
“I didn’t know anything about that.”
