Alessandro stood up, signaled Gabriel to stop the music, and when the music stopped, he spoke in
a loud voice, capturing everyone’s attention.
“Thank you all for coming.”
Alessandro took little Lissana in his arms and said,
“I wish to officially present my daughter, Lissana Veriatte, the crown princess of the kingdom of
Cosset.”
There were a few murmurs in the hall when Alessandro announced that Lissana would be the heir
to the throne because she was a girl. Cassian attempted to ease the tension in the room by
proclaiming,
“Long live Princess Lissana.”
Maya exclaimed,
“Long live the crown princess.”
The other nobles followed suit and offered words of blessing.
Seeing his daughter acclaimed as the crown princess, he felt satisfied and signaled for the music
to resume.
As some couples moved to the dance floor, Abril said to Maya and Cassian,
“Thank you very much for your help.”
“It’s the least we could do.”
Maya approached Lissana and asked Alessandro,
“May I hold her?”
“Of course.”

Alessandro heeded his brother’s suggestion, extended his hand to Aby with a slight bow, and said,
“Would you do me the honor of this dance?”
Abril took his hand, and they both headed to the dance floor and began to dance, letting the music
guide them.
A beautiful smile spread across Aby’s face, Alessandro said,
“I think I’ve fallen in love again.”
“Oh, really?”
“Yes, and I will continue to do so time and time again for the rest of my life.”
“I feel so lucky to hear that I’ll be loved for the rest of my life.”
