Abril woke up as the first rays of the sun filtered through the window, interrupting her sleep and illuminating her face. That light bothered her, and when she opened her eyes, she had to blink several times to adjust her vision. She was exhausted, her eyelids felt heavy, and she just wanted to keep sleeping. She wanted to get up and close the curtains, but if she did, she would wake Alessandro, who had her wrapped in his strong arms.

She stayed there watching him; he looked incredibly handsome as he slept. She kept staring at his face for a while, and as she did, she remembered that she would have to part from her beloved, which broke her
