Abril stared intently at the entrance Fay had opened to the land of the fairies; it looked beautiful and
bright, so much so that she felt drawn to touch it. Alessandro pulled her out of her thoughts by holding her
hand.
“Aby, be very careful.”
“Don’t worry, I will.”
Alessandro hugged her and said,
“Come back soon. Remember I’ll be eagerly waiting for you.”
“I will.”
“And remember not to do anything reckless. Think before you act.”
“Think before acting, I got it.”
“And if you’re in danger, don’t try to be brave, run if necessary.”
“I won’t be reckless.”
Abril stood on tiptoe, gave him a kiss, and said,
“My priority will always be to return to your side. I won’t do anything that could kill me.”
Alessandro gave her a gentle kiss and replied,
“I really hate having to let you go.”
“I also hate having to part from you just now that we are back together. That’s why I’ll try to finish it as soon as possible and, upon my return, we could start by having a child, don’t you think?”
“Really?”
“Of course, I’ve already broken the last seal so we don’t have to worry about that anymore. We can finally
have children and a family, wouldn’t you like that?”
Alessandro hugged Abril tightly, so much so that she felt Alessandro was crushing her. He was happy.
“I would love that, so don’t take long. I already want to start a family.”
Fay began giving instructions.
“This portal will take us directly to the land of the fairies. Once on the other–side, be careful with what you
touch and what you eat, especially the latter.”
Everyone nodded.
“If everything is clear, let’s go.”

Fay crossed the portal, Ethan and Dantriel were next, Abril followed after, followed by Maya. When it was Cassian’s turn, Alessandro said to him,
“Cas, take care of Abril for me and make sure she doesn’t do anything rash.”
“You don’t have to say it, I was already planning to do that.”
Before crossing the portal, Cassian looked at his brother and thanked him.
“Lessan, thank you for accepting the alliance with the fairies. I know it wasn’t easy for you since you were forced to let Abril go even when you didn’t want to.”
“You don’t have to thank me for that, it was actually Abril who accepted this alliance, I just had to respect
her will.”
“Still, thank you.”
Cassian crossed the portal, and it closed behind him. That tree returned to normal. Alessandro touched
the trunk of the tree and said,
“Come back safe and sound, my love, I’ll be waiting for you.”

When she crossed the portal, Abril blinked momentarily under the intense sunlight, admiring the beauty of
the sky, the trees, and even the grass beneath her feet; in fairyland, everything seemed brighter and
appeared to have more color.
Maya stood next to her and took a deep breath, letting the scent of the fairyland air fill her nose and
mouth.
Although she had been in that place against her will, she couldn’t deny how beautiful and wonderful it was.
“Isn’t it just beautiful?”
“Yes.”
“But it’s also dangerous, so be careful.”
When Cassian arrived at the other side, Maya went to where he was and asked,
“Are you okay?”
“Yes, are you okay?”
Maya wished she could lie, but she blurted out the truth instead.
“No.”
Cassian took Maya’s hand, and he could see the concern reflected on her face.
“Maya, what’s wrong? Is something hurting you?”
Maya didn’t want to answer his question, so before she ended up blurting out the truth, she kissed him on

the lips and said.
“Nothing hurts.”

Knowing Maya couldn’t lie, Cassian was aware she was telling the truth, but still, something was bothering
him; Maya didn’t seem to be very well. He was about to ask her again when Fay said.
“Let’s go, the queen already knows we’ve arrived, she’s waiting for us.”
Maya tugged Cassian’s hand to get him moving and said,
“Let’s go, it’s not good to keep the queen waiting, she hates it, and it makes her cranky.”
“How do you know?”
“I’ve spent a lot of time with her, I know more or less how she is.”
As they walked through the beautiful forest, Cassian couldn’t help but say.
“Despite the war, this place feels so peaceful.”
Maya looked at Fay as if seeking his approval before speaking, he nodded, and she began to say.
“The battle is taking place in another dimension.”
“What is that?”
“It’s here, but at the same time it’s not.”
“That’s even more ambiguous than before.”
“Well, it’s something difficult to explain and even harder to understand.”
In reality, Maya didn’t quite understand how it worked either, even though it had been explained to her
several times, it was something she had never been able to fully grasp.
“Think of it as the queen’s magic; she can manipulate time as she pleases, that’s why time here passes
differently, she’s using that power to hold back the war and its attacks, but I don’t think she can maintain it
that way forever.”
“So, the war hasn’t really started yet?”
“Of course it has; it’s just in a sort of dormancy right now.”
They arrived at a small clearing, where there were several pegasi of different colors: lilac, yellow, soft pink,
turquoise, white, and brown. Their coats looked soft and silky, their feathers radiant and fluffy. Abril was the first to approach, being naturally very curious, and she couldn’t resist wanting to touch them.
When she was about to touch the muzzle of a white horse, Ethan grabbed her hand to stop her and said,
“Don’t touch them. It can be dangerous, Sophia.”
An awkward silence followed.

Ethan kept confusing Abril with her mother, and at some point, Abril began to feel that Ethan was treating her even more like Sophia, forgetting that she was Abril, the woman he had loved so much was not her.
Maya tried to break the awkward silence by saying,
“Winged horses don’t like to be touched lightly, so don’t touch them recklessly.”
Maya broke off a branch from a bush, offered it to one of the horses, and waited for it to approach her first. As the horse began to eat, Maya remarked,
“But if you let them approach first, there won’t be a problem.”
Abril did the same thing Maya had done, and when one of the horses approached her voluntarily, she was
very surprised and said,
“You were right!”
“It likes you, I’m sure it’ll let you ride it.”
Ethan was nearby, and upon hearing that, he replied,
“You’re nuts! Those creatures are dangerous.”
Maya patted the muzzle of her horse and said,
“If you don’t want to ride them, that’s your choice, but you’ll have to travel to those lands on foot alone, and you might even get lost, so think carefully about what you want to do.”
