Alessandro left his office and headed to the garden where the tree with the portal to the land of fairies was located. He had done this every day since Abril had left, touching the trunk of the tree and wondering
when she would return.
A week and a half had passed since Abril had left, but for Alessandro, every day and every minute spent away from his beloved felt like an eternity.
He rested his forehead against the trunk of the tree, and with sighs of sadness, he asked again.
“Aby, when will you return?”
After saying that, the trunk of the tree began to glow, and Alessandro took a few steps backwards to have a better view of what was happening. Suddenly, he saw the silhouette of a person emerging from the tree, and he blinked several times until his eyes adjusted to the light.
When his eyes adjusted to the light, he saw Abril. She ran towards him, hugged him, and with a big smile,
she said, “I’m back.”
Alessandro was overwhelmed with surprise and happiness. He lifted her into the air, spun her around a few times, and then kissed her.
Alessandro gently caressed her face as if he couldn’t believe she was there.
“Is it really you? Tell me I’m not dreaming, that it’s real.”
Abril stood on her tiptoes, pressed her lips against his, and said, “It’s real, I’m back.”
“Even though you’ve only been gone a short while, it feels like an eternity.”
“It was the same for me. I missed you a lot.”
Maya and Cassian crossed through the portal, and Alessandro, seeing them together, was happy for his
brother. He had managed to return with the woman he loved.
“Brother, I’m back.”
“I’m glad to see you’re both well.”
Ethan and Dantriel crossed shortly after. Dantriel greeted him, but Ethan didn’t; seeing Abril in Alessandro’s
arms always made him feel a pang of jealousy, even though he knew she wasn’t the woman he loved.
Alessandro asked, “How did everything go?”
Abril replied, “It’s a long story, we’d better get comfortable. Let’s head inside.”
They all went to the imperial palace, to the king’s private room. Everyone gave a report of what had happened in the land of the fairies; Alessandro remained silent, listening attentively to what they were saying, even when sometimes what they told him filled him with anxiety and fear of what was to come. When everyone finished speaking, he said with a furrowed brow and a face marked by concern, “So this

Abril took his hand and said, “For now, yes, it’s all over. Enzo, my brother, told me that Cira was weak and
would take a long time to recover.”
Alessandro didn’t trust Enzo and partly hated him because he had tortured the woman he loved for a long time, causing her invisible wounds that inflicted great emotional damage; she still had terrible nightmares
about those memories.
Alessandro gently squeezed Abril’s hand.
“Could what your brother said be true? Is he just helping his sister recover so he can betray us later?”
Abril shook her head, showed him the red mark on her right hand, and said,
“I don’t think so. Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t betray us. If he does, he will die.”
“What is that mark?”
“It’s proof of our alliance and our promise of peace, so we don’t have to worry about that for a while.”
Alessandro was still uneasy, even though there was an alliance between them, he couldn’t trust Enzo, but he had been separated from his beloved for a long time, and at that moment, he just wanted to be with her
and set aside his worries.
Dantriel stood up and said,
“We’re leaving; we must prepare to return to the elven lands.”
Alessandro stood up and replied,
“I greatly appreciate your help. I hope you can convey my gratitude to your queen.”
“We will do so.”
Dantriel walked towards the door and, seeing Ethan lagging behind, called him.
“Ethan.”
“I’m coming.”
Ethan approached Abril.
“Take care.”
“I will, thank you very much for everything you’ve done for us.”
“I couldn’t help your mother when she needed it, and I wouldn’t have forgiven myself if I had done the
same with you.”
Ethan headed to the door, before he left, Abril said to him,
“My mother appreciated you a lot while she was inside me. I could feel it.”

With a certain sadness on his face, Ethan replied,
“I know, but thank you for telling me.”
After they left, Maya stood up and pulled Cassian along with her.
“We’re leaving too; you must have a lot to talk about or do.”

They both left the room. Once alone, Alessandro embraced Abril, found her lips, and with a gentle kiss,
said,
“My love, finally alone.”
Alessandro took Abril in his arms, and they both left through another door, heading to their quarters. Upon arriving, he began to kiss her passionately; he didn’t want to wait any longer. He wanted to show his love
not only with words but also with his kisses, his caresses, his body, and his entire being. He gently laid her
on the bed and said, between kisses,
“I love you Aby, I love you, my wife, I love you, my queen, my everything.”
During the time they had been apart, Abril hadn’t stopped missing him and responded eagerly to his
kisses. She was intoxicated by his kisses and caresses, surrendering to the sweetness of his whispered
words and his warmth.
They made love a few times, until they were exhausted.
Alessandro gently caressed Abril’s curls as she rested on his chest.
“Lessan,” she murmured softly.
“Being with you makes me the happiest woman in the world.”
