Forgotten Wife My Ex-Husband Regrets It After I Left (Clara and Liam) novel Chapter 204

Sienna’s POV

The sunlight filtering through the leaves created a gentle glow around us. It felt almost like a real family photo not just an image, but the portrait of a small hope beginning to form.

“Good! But Mommy has to look at Daddy!” Noah suddenly shouted.

“What?” I nearly choked on my own breath.

But Liam chuckled softly and without protest tilted his body toward me, bringing his face even closer. I could see  the tiny details I rarely noticed this close the faint lines near his eyes, the slight shadow of his stubble he hadn’t fully trimmed this morning, and that smile. The smile I used to see only once in a while, now appearing more often than before.

“Noah, take it quickly,” Liam said, looking at the camera though I knew he was aware of how warm my cheeks had become.

Click.

Noah cheered. “Yay! So pretty!”

I covered my face with both hands, half embarrassed, half laughing. “Noah, Mommy is really shy.”

“It’s okay!” Noah said proudly. “Mommy looks super pretty

when she’s with Daddy.”

Those innocent words made Liam and me exchange a glance just a brief one, but enough to shift the air between us. Warmer. Closer.

Liam let out a short breath, the smile still lingering on his lips. “Our little photographer is amazing.”

“Right!” Noah Lifted his chin proudly.

Liam stood up and offered a hand to help me. I took it, feeling the gentle touch that lasted only a second, yet somehow felt much longer. Once I stood, he let go slowly as if he didn’t want to make me uncomfortable, but also didn’t quite want to let go either.

“Noah, thank you,” I said as I ruffled his hair. “Your photos must look great.”

“So great!” Noah nodded confidently. “Now let’s eat!”

I laughed softly. “Yes, let’s eat.”

After the short photo session, we finally began eating.

Noah grabbed two pieces of egg sandwich at once and bit into them with pure delight. Crumbs stuck to his cheek, making me laugh as I wiped them with a tissue.

Liam sipped his warm tea, then looked at me as if wanting to say something. “Your sandwiches are always good,” he said quietly but sincerely. That simple compliment made my cheeks warm. “You’re just hungry,” I said, trying to sound casual.

Liam chückled. “Maybe. But they’re still good.”

We ate while enjoying the calm breeze. Sometimes Noah would run off briefly then return to grab some fruit, before running off again. Liam’s and Noah’s laughter filled the air, making me close my eyes for a moment letting their voices sink into my memory.

Because today felt like a small piece of heaven. And I wanted to keep it forever.

Once we finished eating, Noah stood up and brushed crumbs from his pants. His eyes sparkled with endless energy as he grabbed a small ball from the bag.

“Daddy! Let’s play ball!” he said, shaking the ball in front of Liam.

Liam glanced at me as if asking permission, and I simply nodded with a smile. “Go. Noah’s been waiting.”

Noah immediately pulled Liam’s hand, almost dragging him toward the open grassy area. Liam laughed softly, letting himself be led. He always seemed calm and collected, but around Noah, a different side of him appeared.

Noah laughed so hard he almost fell over. I recorded everything the movement of Noah’s little legs, Liam chasing the ball, and their laughter filling the space, as if making up for years of emptiness in my life.

After a few minutes, Liam returned a bit out of breath. He Lifted Noah onto his shoulders, and Noah played with his hair as if it were part of the game.

I stopped the recording and put my phone down.

They walked back to the picnic mat. Liam carefully set Noah down, then sat beside me, still smiling, his cheeks slightly flushed from exertion.

“Noah was amazing today,” I said as I wiped a bit of sweat from my child’s forehead.

“Of course! Daddy lost three times!” Noah said proudly.

Liam nodded dramatically. “Daddy never stood a chance.

Your kicks were too strong.”Noah laughed again and hugged me, then rested his head on my lap.

And looked at the two of them Liam, who looked so alive, and Noah, who was happily carefree and I realized something.

I felt complete. The home I had always imagined it was right in front of me.

“Wow, I feel exhausted,” Liam complained as he lay down beside me.

“In that case, give me a little sibling! So I can play with them instead!” Noah suddenly shouted, surprising both of US.
