Forgotten Wife My Ex-Husband Regrets It After I Left (Clara and Liam) novel Chapter 230

Sienna’s POV

“Yes! It’s sturdy!” He knocked on the block with pride.

The tower shook a bit. I naturally stopped breathing.

Noah did well.

We stayed.

It kept standing.

Noah let out a breath of relief then chose to place a red square at the peak. “That’s the flag!”

I stared at him in admiration. “Wow how romantic. A castle flying a flag. The king residing there must feel very proud.”

Noah scowled.

“This doesn’t look like a fortress.”

I narrowed my eyes. “So who does this castle belong to?”

He raised his head as though the solution was the thing imaginable. “Mommy’s castle.”

My heart quickly softened, dissolving like ice, beneath the sun.

“Mommy’s fortress, huh?” My tone nearly quivered.

“Noah wishes for Mommy to become a queen,” he went on, pure and oblivious, to how his words touched the mosttender yet cherished part of my heart.

I smiled, softly stroking his cheek. “If Mommy is the queen then what role does Noah have?”

“Noah is going to be the knight!” he replied swiftly. “The one who guards Mommy! The powerful one! The one skilled in taekwondo!”

I laughed quietly. Gave his shoulder a playful tap. “Sir Noah the Knight, your responsibility is quite great.”

He nodded resolutely as though embracing a duty. “Noah doesn’t object. Noah enjoys guarding Mommy.”

gazed at him quietly for quite some time. The small child I had once cradled with uncertainty had now turned into my motivation to keep going.

Noah returned to his blocks softly humming the melody he had sung in the car before. His pitched tiny voice brought a sense of calm to the room. This small space instantly seemed like a secure place, on earth where no harm could penetrate the comfort.

I assisted with organizing the castle’s side although naturally Noah wouldn’t allow me to place blocks randomly.

“Mommy needs to place that one here,” he said, indicating a particular spot.

“If Mommy puts it in its place the castle

will collapse. Daddy isn’t allowed to tease Mommy’s castle!”I chuckled. “Alright Mr. Supervisor.”

We continued in that manner with Noah in charge and me trailing behind. The home once silent before was now alive, with laughter and little anecdotes.

Until finally

“Noah!” he exclaimed with pride. “See! Nearly finished!”

The pale blue tower that tilted gently was now enclosed by block walls. It was irregular and flawed. There was something incredibly charming about that flaw.

“Mommy’s fortress is nearly complete!” he exclaimed, eyes sparkling with pride.

I softly placed my hand on his shoulder. “Noah Mommy feels very proud.”

Noah smiled with satisfaction. Set the block atop the tower. However as soon as it made contact the entire tower began to shake.

Crash!

Blocks are scattered everywhere.

Liam gave a chuckle yet it was filled with affection. “Yes Daddy’s back. Did you miss me?”

“Miss you! So much!”

Liam’s chest gently. Contracted with a quiet sigh his face softened with affection as he gazed at his son. Somehow that instant made my heart feel oddly calm as if our home had become more complete.

Liam eventuaily set Noah down. Then his gaze met mine.

When our eyes locked, the lingering anxiety stirring within me since dawn gradually eased. Not entirely.

Diminished.

“Hey,” he murmured softly.

I grinned slightly. “Hey.”

Noah took hold of Liam’s hand pulling him indoors. ” Daddy needs to check out Noah’s castle! It was nearlydone when the wind blew fiercely and CRASH!”

Liam glanced at me with a chuckle. “The wind, really?”

“A breeze,” I responded theatrically. Noah gave a nod of approval.

Liam took off his shoes. Entered along with Noah. When he came by where i was standing he. Grabbed my hand.

“Exhausted?” I murmured.

“Somewhat, yet looking at this? It removes half of the exhaustion.”

My smile eased. A faint trace of concern lingered quietly in my heart. “Noah has been waiting for you the day.”

“I missed him too,” Liam answered, his eyes glancing Lovingly at Noah who was already rebuilding his castle.
