Forgotten Wife My Ex-Husband Regrets It After I Left (Clara and Liam) novel Chapter 280

Sienna’s POV

After dinner was over, the atmosphere in the living room grew much warmer than before. Noah sat cross-legged on the carpet, assembling his small robot toys, while I  casually cleared the dining table. Liam helped gather the empty food containers and carried them into the kitchen.

I watched the two of them from the kitchen Liam placing plates into the sink while occasionally glancing at Noah, and Noah chuckling to himself because his robot could stand without falling over. The scene was so simple yet Somehow deeply calming. As if a world that had felt heavy all day finally softened, even if only for a while.

I’ll wash these, okay?” Liam said as he turned on the faucet

I walked over and took a plate from his hands. “No need. I can do it.”

He shook his head lightly. “You’ve been tired all day. Let me.”

I laughed softly. “You’ve been working all day too, Liam.”

“But you’ve been thinking all day,” he replied quickly, as if it were an undeniable fact.

I paused. There was something in his voice, a kind of care that didn’t need further explanation.”If you keep this up, I might get spoiled,” I muttered white picking up a dish towel.

“That’s how it’s supposed to be,” he said lightly, though his eyes were serious.

I turned my face away for a moment, pretending to focus on wiping the kitchen counter, even though my heart was beating a little faster than usual.

I let Liam wash the dishes while I wiped the counter and tidied up the remnants of dinner. The sound of running water and the soft clink of porcelain blended with Noah’s voice as he talked to his robot, as if those little objects truly understood all his stories.

“Mommy, look!” Noah called from the living room. “The robot can stand on one leg!”

I turned with a smile. “Wow, that’s great. Don’t let it fall.”

“Relax, Mommy. I’m good at this,” he said confidently.

Liam glanced toward Noah, a faint smile appearing on his face. “Careful, the robot might complain if you drop it.”

Noah giggled. “Robots can’t nag like Daddy.”

“Hey,” Liam said, pretending to be offended. “Daddy rarely nags.”

I laughed softly, shaking my head. “Rarely but when you do, you go all in.”Liam looked at me, one eyebrow raised. “Oh, so I have a reputation now?”

“A little,” I replied casually. “But a good one.”

He smiled briefly and went back to washing. I watched his back for a moment, the calm movements of his hands, as if this routine wasn’t a burden but a choice. There was a time when something this simple felt impossibte for us.

Now I was almost afraid to enjoy it too deeply.

“What are you thinking about?” Liam asked without turning around, as if he could sense my silence.

I stopped wiping the counter. “I’m just grateful. Today feels full.”

He turned off the faucet and dried his hands with a towel. ”

Liam looked at me intently, then his fingers suddenly touched the back of my hand. “I’m glad you said that.”

I lowered my gaze slightly, feeling the warmth travel from his hand into my chest.

Noah’s sudden loud laughter broke the moment.”

Mommy! Daddy! Look, my robot is dancing!”

We both turned at the same time and saw the robot swaying left and right. Noah laughed so hard his eyes nearly disappeared.Liam and I laughed along with him.

“That’s so cute,” I said, covering my mouth.

“The happiest robot in the world,” Liam added.

Noah looked up. “Because Daddy and Mommy are here!”

Something warm surged in my chest.

I smiled widely at Noah, then glanced at Liam beside me.

That innocent sentence sounded simple, yet somehow it felt like it knocked gently on something soft inside my heart.

“You’re really good at saying things like that,” Liam said, ruffling Noah’s hair. “Daddy feels important now.”
