Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time (by Zora Pradeep) novel Chapter 495

**Freedom 495**
**Chapter 495**

Maggie and Isabella found themselves seated in the plush interior of Franklin’s car, the soft hum of the engine providing a backdrop to their journey. Yet, despite the proximity, Maggie’s attention seemed to drift elsewhere. Her words flowed freely towards Old Mrs. Wilson and Isabella, but Franklin remained an island of silence between them. Not a single utterance escaped her lips in his direction, as if he were a mere shadow in the vehicle.

Franklin, too, maintained his silence, choosing not to breach the chasm that had formed. He stole glances at Maggie, but each time he opened his mouth to speak, the words seemed to evaporate before they could take shape. Old Mrs. Wilson, seated in the back, observed this peculiar dynamic with a heavy heart, a soft sigh escaping her lips as she pondered the growing distance between the two.

Meanwhile, Jason, despite his aversion to Franklin, felt a genuine urge to express his gratitude. He had made arrangements to dine at one of New York’s most prestigious restaurants, a place where Franklin was a familiar face. The anticipation coursed through him as he approached the venue, hoping that this gesture would convey his appreciation.

As soon as they arrived, the restaurant manager spotted Franklin and rushed over, his demeanor shifting into one of eager hospitality. “Mr. Wilson, it’s a pleasure to see you! Would you like to be seated in your usual private room?” he asked, a warm smile plastered across his face.

Franklin’s gaze flickered to Jason, who was standing nearby, and with a subtle nod, he replied to the manager, “Mr. Miller is the host today.” The implication was clear: Franklin had no particular preference and would defer to Jason’s judgment.

Jason, catching on immediately, felt a sense of relief wash over him. “If Mr. Wilson is agreeable, let’s head to his usual private room. Please, lead the way,” he said with a polite smile, feeling a surge of confidence.

As their group ascended the stairs, blissfully unaware, the Brown and Green families had just arrived at the entrance. They halted abruptly, their eyes widening at the sight of Franklin, Maggie, and the entire Miller family stepping into the private elevator together.

Tracy, unable to mask her astonishment, whispered incredulously, “Just a few days ago, Franklin invited specialists to treat that old Miller woman. And now he’s dining with the whole Miller clan? What’s with this sudden closeness?” Her voice was tinged with disbelief.

Sophia, standing beside her, frowned deeply, her displeasure evident. “Exactly,” she echoed, her mind racing back to the “diamond situation” from days past. Isabella had mentioned that Franklin gifted Maggie an enormous red diamond for her birthday, a detail Julia had insisted she keep under wraps. At first, Sophia couldn’t fathom Julia’s calm demeanor in light of such a revelation.

Yet, as time passed, she convinced herself that perhaps Franklin and Maggie had some unspoken agreement, and the diamond was merely a token that held no real significance. Even though the thought of a diamond worth tens of billions was astonishing, in the grand scheme of Franklin’s immense wealth, it seemed almost trivial.
