Maggie stopped walking for a moment.

Isabella noticed and looked up. “Mom?”

They were just taking Isabella out to have some fun. Since Franklin had already agreed, Maggie had no reason to object either.

Isabella let go of Franklin’s hand and ran back to grab hers instead.

“Mom, let’s go see the building sets first! Then we can go wherever you want after, okay?”

Maggie pulled her gaze back, gently squeezing Isabella’s hand.

“Mom doesn’t need anything. Just tell me where you want to go.”

As soon as they entered the store, Isabella let go and dashed inside,

She didn’t look back.

Later, when Isabella went to the restroom, Maggie stayed outside waiting. She pulled out her phone to reply to some messages when Franklin suddenly spoke.

“Really don’t want to buy anything?”

Maggie didn’t know why he suddenly felt like talking. She didn’t look up, just continued typing as she answered calmly,

“No.”

He didn’t push the topic. Instead, he asked,

“Meeting at Wilson Group again tomorrow?”

Maggie acted like she hadn’t heard him.

Seeing that, Franklin fell quiet too. Since she was clearly busy on her phone, he didn’t say anything else.

Once Isabella came back out, they continued walking around until the sky outside had turned dark.

Isabella eventually got sleepy, so they went into a Japanese restaurant for dinner.
