Chapter 531
After reading the message, Maggie handed her phone to Johnny,
Johnny: “…”
Maggie had told him about Benjamin before.
To be honest, he was very interested.
He cleared his throat lightly. “That project actually looks solid. It’s worth talking about.”
Almost as soon as Johnny finished speaking, Benjamin called Maggie. After the call ended, Benjamin immediately sent her an email.
Once Maggie finished reading it, she sent Franklin a message.
“Time and place.”
The moment her message went through, Franklin sent back an address, followed by another line.
“I’m heading over now.”
“Got it,” Maggie replied.
Johnny would’ve loved to go in Maggie’s place to talk business with Benjamin, but he had other matters to deal with. After saying a few wor her, he left first.
Glen had overheard Maggie’s conversation with Benjamin and assumed the person she was about to meet had nothing to do with her ex–husband, so he didn’t think much of it.
Half an hour later, Maggie arrived at the restaurant.
As soon as she got there, Franklin sent her the private room number.
When she reached the room, Franklin hadn’t arrived yet.
Two or three minutes later, though, the door opened and Franklin walked in. “Sorry to keep you waiting.”
Maggie had assumed he would bring an assistant. Seeing him come alone surprised her a little.
She looked away and replied calmly, “I just got here too.”
Franklin sat down. “Have you ordered yet?”
“Not yet.”
Benjamin would arrive later, so they planned to order first. When the server came in with the menus, Franklin handed one to Maggie “Go ahead and order what you like. I’ll handle Benjamin’s when he gets here.”
Maggie didn’t say anything. She flipped through the menu and started ordering
Franklin stayed quiet, but he poured her a cup of tea and placed it in front of her.
Just then, someone happened to pass by the door.
When Janice. Tracy, and the others saw Franklin and Maggie inside the private room, their expressions changed instantly.
