Chapter 533
Maggie paused, then said, “Okay. But after you look at it, make sure you put it back, all right? It’s not something to mess around with. It’d be bad if it got lost.”
If the marriage certificate were lost, she and Franklin would have to go through the trouble of getting a replacement just to divorce. It would be a real hassle.
Isabella didn’t think much of it and quickly agreed. “Got it.”
With that, she hung up and had someone take her to the Miller family home.
Maggie returned to continue chatting with the others. After talking for a while, the group finally set off for dinner.
When everyone was getting seated, Franklin once again took the initiative to sit beside Maggie.
No one else really paid much attention to it.
However, after they sat down, from start to finish of the meal, Maggie and Franklin barely spoke to each other. That caught a few people off guard. In their eyes, Cole and Wilson Group were still collaborating on projects, so they’d assumed Maggie and Franklin would be fairly close.
Unexpectedly, they seemed almost like strangers.
After the dinner ended, when Maggie returned to the Miller family home, Isabella was still there. She ran over happily and hugged Maggie, lifting her little face with a bright smile. “Mom, I looked at your marriage certificate with Dad. You really didn’t get divorced.”
Hearing that, Maggie wanted to say something. But looking down at Isabella’s smiling face, the words suddenly stuck in her throat. She simply gave a soft “Mm,” then changed the subject. “Have you showered? Are you staying here tonight?”
“I’m fine either way. What about you, Mom?” Before Maggie could answer, Isabella continued, “Mom, I want you to come home. You haven’t lived at home in a long time.”
Without waiting for Maggie to respond, she added, “Mom, where do you work now? If it’s far from home, couldn’t Dad just drive you to work?”
Maggie fell momentarily silent. After a pause, she said, “Your dad is busy with work too…”
Isabella replied, “Then when Dad is busy, you can come stay here.”
Just as Maggie was struggling with how to respond, her phone suddenly rang,
It was Franklin calling.
She answered and told Isabella, “It’s your dad.”
With that, she handed the phone to her.
Isabella took the call. “Dad?”
On the other end, Franklin said, “I’m home now. Are you still at your great–grandmother’s place?”
“Yeah.” As she spoke, Isabella suddenly thought of something. Her eyes lit up. “Dad, Mom hasn’t lived at home for a long time, and it’s inconvenient for her to commute from the house. How about we move? We can move somewhere that’s convenient for both you and Mom to get to work.”
Franklin chuckled. “You’d be willing to leave this place?”

Chapter 533
Isabella pressed her lips together.
Truthfully, she wasn’t.
She’d grown up there, after all. Leaving it behind so suddenly was hard.
Franklin smoothly shifted the topic. “Do you want Dad to come pick you up now and take you home?”
Isabella pouted and didn’t answer.
Seeing her stay quiet, Franklin continued, “Then stay there tonight and keep your mom company. I’ll have someone deliver your schoolbag tomorrow morning.”
