Chapter 549
Rex did not notice the change in Maggie’s expression. Hearing his mother mention Jimmy, he actually thought that if Jimmy had been there tonight, he would have had someone he could talk to as well.
That night, close to ten o’clock, Maggie and the others prepared to leave.
When Reed walked them out, he could not help saying, “Maggie, if you have time, come by with Johnny more often. Your aunt and I are always happy to have you.”
“Of course,” Maggie replied. “I will.”
Rex watched coldly from the side and said nothing.
But the more he thought about it, the more he felt that his parents liked Maggie even more than he had realized.
In fact, he had the distinct impression that they liked Maggie even more than Johnny.
After Maggie and the others left, he could not hold back anymore. “Dad, Mom, Maggie is definitely capable, I won’t deny that. But she’s not someone with pure intentions. You-”
Old Mrs. Hardin smiled. “Is that so? I actually think Maggie is very straightforward. Your father and I like her more and more the longer we see her.”
As she said this, she looked at Rex with a hint of regret in her eyes.
If only her son were not so blind. Who knew, maybe he and Maggie could have had a chance.
Yes, Maggie had been married before, but she was outstanding in ability, had a good personality, solid character, and was practically flawless.
If she could have such an excellent daughter in law.
Rex had no idea what his mother was thinking. He rubbed his brow. “Mom, I’m being serious. She’s nothing like the image you have of her. She’s extremely calculating. She’s not as well behaved and harmless as she looks in front of you.”
Reed immediately understood what was behind this. “You’re saying this because something happened between Maggie and Miss Brown again, and you think Maggie was at fault?”
“They didn’t have a conflict,” Rex said. “But she-”
Both Reed and Old Mrs. Hardin already guessed where he was going.
It probably had something to do with Franklin.
Reed smiled. “What you see isn’t always the truth. Your mother and I stand by our judgment. We also hope you don’t let emotions cloud your thinking. Make your decisions rationally.”
Rex had never imagined his parents‘ impression of Maggie would be this good.
Reed patted him on the shoulder. “Get some rest.”
Rex could not believe that his parents were completely unwilling to listen to him.
But it was also at that moment that he finally understood something more clearly.
Maggie’s methods were far more advanced than he had ever thought.
Then again, it made sense.

Mr. CEO, Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time
Chapter 549
If Maggie were not this skilled, how could she keep Johnny firmly under control, use him as a bridge to meet so many powerful figures and build solid relationships with each of them, while at the same time effortlessly capturing Franklin’s heart?
Even people like his parents and Jordan had been fooled by her.
Thinking of that, his expression darkened.
Maggie, of course, had no idea what Rex was thinking.
