Chapter 559
Chapter 559
After the dinner ended.
Julia got into Franklin’s car and looked at him. “Are you upset?”
She was referring to how she’d gone through Chad without Franklin’s permission to ambush him here.
Franklin replied, “No.” Then he added, “I’ll have the driver take you home.”
He told the driver to head to the Browns‘.
Julia didn’t stop him, just looked at Franklin and reached out to hold his hand.
Franklin froze. When he snapped out of it, he was about to pull his hand away when Julia leaned toward him.
Franklin turned his face away, pulled his hand back, and shifted his position to put more distance between them.
Right then, his phone rang.
He picked it up and said, “Let me take this call first.”
?
Having her advance rejected, Julia’s expression showed no embarrassment. She sat back and said, “Go ahead.”
Franklin answered the phone and started discussing business with whoever was on the other end.
It was several minutes before he hung up.
Julia didn’t bring up what had just happened. Instead, she smiled and brought up the business matter he’d been discussing on the phone. “I thought you guys had already wrapped up that project.”
“No, something came up. It’s slowed down the progress a bit.”
Julia nodded and continued chatting with Franklin about work.
The atmosphere between them was pleasant, as if what had happened earlier hadn’t affected them at all.
And Julia didn’t try to get close to Franklin again like before.
After all, if she pushed too hard and Franklin lost his patience and broke up with her, that would be counterproductive.
When they arrived at the Browns‘, Julia said as she was about to get out, “It’s been a while since you’ve come inside. Come in for some water.”
Franklin stayed in his seat. “I’ll pass. I’ve got some other things to take care of. Next time.”
Julia didn’t push it. “Alright.”
Franklin didn’t say more, and the car left the Brown estate before any of the Browns came out.
The Browns only realized Franklin had driven Julia home when they saw his car leaving,
Tracy asked, “Why did Franklin leave without coming in for a bit?”
Julia didn’t answer.
Seeing her expression, Janice knew things hadn’t gone well. She asked, “So how did it go?”

Chapter 559
In the car, Julia had actually been testing Franklin’s attitude toward her.
The result was obvious.
Even though Franklin hadn’t broken up with her, right now…
He was rejecting any physical intimacy with her.
So if she really wanted to turn things around by getting pregnant, Franklin might be…
Tracy said, “Take your time. There’ll be opportunities.”
After all, Franklin still hadn’t brought up breaking up with her, right?
