Chapter 564
“Oh, and call your mom in a bit – ask if she’s free tonight.”
“Got it,” Isabella said.
Isabella was at the arcade, having a blast. After she hung up, she told herself she’d call Maggie once she was done with her game, but she got so caught up in playing that she completely forgot. By the time it crossed her mind again, it was already past four in the afternoon.
She quickly dialed Maggie’s number. “Mom, are you free for dinner tonight?”
Maggie was still at Wilson Group, deep in a data analysis session with her colleagues.
When she heard that, she assumed Isabella meant just the two of them grabbing dinner together.
She kept her eyes glued to the screen and answered offhandedly. “Sure, just send me the address. I’ll head over once I wrap up here.”
“Okay!”
“I’m still swamped, so I’ve gotta go. We’ll catch up tonight?”
Isabella had been about to tell Maggie all about her day, but hearing that, she just said, “Okay, bye, Mom.”
After they hung up, Maggie went right back to her work conversation, completely unaware that several people in the room had their jaws on the floor after overhearing that exchange.
Most people at Wilson Tech and Cole already knew Maggie had been married and had a kid. But the colleagues she worked with at Wilson Group? They had no idea.
Someone couldn’t help themselves. “Ms. Miller… you have a child?”
Maggie didn’t even look up. She just gave a small nod. “Mm.”
Everyone else exchanged glances.
She had a kid. But as far as they knew, Johnny had never been married, so Maggie’s child… had nothing to do with Johnny?
The Wilson Group employees noticed that their counterparts from the other companies didn’t seem the least bit surprised by this news, which told them this was old news on their end.
When Maggie stepped out to use the restroom, someone couldn’t resist pulling a Wilson Group employee aside. “So what’s the deal with your Ms. Miller? I thought she and Mr. Gray were a thing?”
Wilson Group and Cole had been working together long enough that everyone was pretty comfortable with each other, but the Cole employees weren’t about to go spilling Maggie’s personal business. One of them hedged vaguely, “Honestly, we don’t really know the full story either. All we know is that Ms. Miller is married, but we heard at some point that her and her husband were thinking about getting a divorce. No idea if it actually went through or not…”
That sent the Wilson Group people’s eyebrows shooting up even higher.
“Wow… never would’ve guessed.”
They’d genuinely thought Maggie and Johnny were a couple…
Maggie had a packed afternoon, and by the time she finally finished up, the sky had already gone dark. She pulled up the address Isabella had sent her and drove out of Wilson Group.

Chapter 564
She called Isabella on the way. “Hey, I’m running a little late. If you’re hungry, just go ahead and order.”
“Mom, I’m still on my way there too. No rush.”
“Okay.”
When Maggie pulled up to the restaurant and was about to get out of the car, she spotted Franklin and Isabella standing outside.
She paused for just a moment, then got out anyway.
