Franklin and Harry hadn’t seen each other in a while, and they didn’t keep in touch much either. They spent some time catching up about their respective businesses, and the conversation flowed pretty easily.

Franklin mentioned before that after attending the Cole dinner, he might not make it over here. Franklin’s always juggling important things, we’ve always been completely understanding of that.”

Franklin used to bring Julia along to major events all the time.

Now he wasn’t even showing up to Wilson Tech’s banquet in person. A lot of people started quietly wondering whether things between Franklin and Julia had gone cold.

But the way the Browns and Greens explained it away put most of those suspicions to rest.

After all, the partnership between Wilson Group and Cole really was a big deal. It only made sense that Franklin would prioritize that side of things.

Even so, once word got out that Franklin probably wasn’t coming, and with Rex and Levi both having left early, a lot of the Wilson Tech guests figured there wasn’t much point in sticking around. People started heading out one after another, and with still a good half hour left before the banquet was officially over. the hall had already cleared out almost entirely.
