Sure, Julia hadn’t been hanging out with the group much these past couple months.
3ut as far as Levi was concerned, Franklin and Julia had to be seeing each other all the time.
So when the whole crew finally got together for once, and Franklin and Julia were the first ones to bring up their own stuff, he figured he’d give them a little rief about it.
ulia caught the comment, and something flickered behind her eyes for just a split second. Then she smiled and said breezily, “What do you mean all the time? ranklin and I haven’t been seeing each other that much lately either.”
he said it like that on purpose. Because sometimes the truth is exactly what makes people believe you.
nd even if they did believe her, they’d just figure the two of them had been busy, that’s all. Nobody was going to jump to the conclusion that something might e wrong between them.
ure enough, Levi just laughed and waved her off. “Alright, alright, my bad. You two carry on then.”

hat evening, Maggie got home after a long day at work and was about to hop in the shower when Harry texted her. Daisy was back in New York, he said. She’d een missing Maggie and wanted to get together.

aisy had gotten a little taller. Maggie scooped her up into a hug, then handed over the gift she’d brought. After that, Daisy launched into a full–on recap of rery interesting thing that had happened to her lately, and she did not hold back.
aggie sat beside her and listened, giving her her full attention.
arry quietly slid the menu over to both of them.
Ley ordered, and by the time Daisy had talked herself nearly hoarse and paused to take a sip of water before diving right back in, Harry caught Maggie’s eye id smiled without a word.
aggie just smiled back and reached over to pat Daisy’s cheek.
