Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time (by Zora Pradeep) novel Chapter 597

Chapter 597

The next morning, Maggie and Franklin both showed up at the courthouse right on schedule.

The paperwork went through without a hitch.

Once everything was filed, Maggie got in her car and headed back to the office.

hey’d gone in first thing in the morning to file for divorce, and Levi and Harry found out pretty quickly.

evi said to Harry, Honestly, this should’ve happened a long time ago. I never saw the point of them deciding to hold off. They’ve both moved on, divorce was lways going to happen, no reason to keep dragging it out. And as for Isabella, I think that’s really on Maggie. If she actually cares about that kid, and she’s noved on and found her own happiness, shouldn’t she be able to let go of the past for her daughter’s sake? Be civil with Julia around Isabella? Isn’t that what’s est for the girl?

of course, Maggie and Johnny weren’t actually together. But that wasn’t something Harry was about to say out loud.

eeing Levi take shots at Maggie, Harry said, Isabella is her child. Even if she’smoved on from Franklin and found her own happiness, being asked to let our own kid get close to someone who once hurt you that badly, I think if you were in her shoes, Levi, you’d struggle with that too.

ack when he hadn’t thought much of Maggie, he’d watched Isabella gravitate toward Julia and figured it made sense, Julia was impressive, warm, good with he kid. Of course Isabella adored her.

ut once he started looking at it from Maggie’s side, he realized that Isabella’s attachment to Julia was probably the most brutal thing she could do to Maggie vithout even knowing it.

nyone else could be close to Julia. Just not Isabella.

hen again, Isabella wasn’t his kid. Franklin had allowed it, and Julia genuinely was wonderful with her. Franklin and Julia were almost certainly going to end p married, and down the road Isabella would naturally spend far more time with Julia than with Maggie. Would it even be right for him to tell Franklin to eep his daughter away from Julia?

evi blinked, caught off guard by Harry’s response,

ut thinking about it, if his own daughter ended up closer to the man his wife had cheated with, he’d probably lose his mind too. That kind of thing wasn’t easy > just let go of.

till..,

ven so, Levi wasn’t quite ready to drop it. He pressed his lips together and said, But isn’t Isabella pulling away from Maggie kind of Maggie’s own fault for eing so offputting?

Come on, Levi. There was only so much Harry could say about Maggie’s situation. He settled for: Before Isabella turned four, she was the one raising her. As a other, objectively speaking, she has nothing to be ashamed of.

evi went quiet.

le’d noticed, of course, that Harry was going to bat for Maggie. Ever since Harry started working with Cole, his opinion of her seemed to have shifted. But Levi idn’t read too much into it.

esides, when he actually thought about what Harry said, he had to admit the guy had a point

eyond Harry and Levi, the Browns and the Greens had all heard the news too, that Maggie and Franklin had officially put divorce back on the table.

veryone was happy about it. Nobody was particularly surprised.

hey’d all seen it coming.

racy summed it up: Let’s hope it goes through smoothly this time.

Yeah, for real.
