Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time (by Zora Pradeep) novel Chapter 599

Chapter 599

The next morning, Maggie wrapped up some things at Cole and then headed over to Wilson Group with Glen and the others.

It had been a little while since they’d last made the trip.

The moment they walked in, someone couldn’t resist pulling them aside for a quick bit of gossip.

Did you guys hear about Mr. Wilson and Ms. Brown making the news a little while back?

Maggie glanced down. I heard.

Well, after all that, word is the two of them have gotten even closer. He’s been bringing her into the office with him in the mornings the past couple days. She’s actually up in his office right now.

Maggie smiled politely and left it at that.

After a little more small talk, they got down to business.

At noon, Maggie headed out for lunch with Mr. Claremont and the others. When they got out of the car, she spotted Felix stepping out of a vehicle just a little ways down.

Before she could react, Mr. Claremont and the rest of the group noticed him too.

The average Wilson Group employee might not recognize Felix, but Mr. Claremont certainly did. He stepped forward right away, all smiles. Mr. Wilson, hello! t’s been a while!

Felix recognized him too and shook hands warmly. Claremont, good to see you.

Then he glanced over and noticed Maggie standing nearby.

He paused, then broke into a smile. Maggie. Long time no see.

Maggie dipped her head. .,,Uncle.

elix stopped for just a beat at that, but didn’t say anything about it. He reached over and gave her shoulder a light pat. You look like you’ve lost some weight. I Lear you’ve been keeping yourself really busy, take care of yourself, don’t push too hard.“.

I will, thanks, Uncle,

1r. Claremont stood there looking genuinely thrown. He hadn’t expected Maggie to know Felix at all, let alone like this,

ust then, the person Felix had made lunch plans with arrived. Maggie caught sight of them and said, Well, we’ll let you get to it, Uncle. Don’t let us keep you.

We should grab a meal together sometime,Felix said,

Absolutely,Maggie said.

he meant it as a pleasantry, nothing more. She had no actual plans to follow through on it.

he person Felix was meeting was clearly someone important, Mr. Claremont and the others knew better than to go over and interrupt.

Once they’d walked far enough away, Mr. Claremont couldn’t hold back anymore. Ms. Miller, you know Mr. Wilson? And the two of you seem pretty close.

etting aside Felix’s other credentials, the man was Franklin’s father. And yet Maggie had called him Uncle, not Uncle Wilson.

One little word made all the difference in the world when it came to how familiar two people actually were.

And judging by how naturally they’d talked just now, it clearly wasn’t a case of them being barely acquainted.

io how was it that Maggie and Franklin seemed like total strangers by comparison? Even during that stretch where Franklin had seemed genuinely interested n Maggie, there’d always been this odd distance between them, like they just couldn’t quite get comfortable around each other no matter what.
