Chapter 600
He couldn’t wrap his head around it either, how Maggie and Felix could seem so genuinely comfortable with each other, while the and Frankin had dekady :ero personal connection to speak of.
hough then again, word was that the Grays and the Wilsons went back a ways too, and Johnny and Franklin didn’t have any rdzionship outside of business
ither.
hat thought settled it for him. He didn’t dig any further.
he next day, Harry came by Cole to work out the details of a new round of collaboration. Maggie was the one who received him, same as dways.
Harry looked at her. “Long time no see.”
t hadn’t actually been that long, they’d seen each other before Daisy left New York to go back to school. But Maggie didn’t bother pointing that out. She just Lodded along. “Long time no see.”
When Glen heard Harry was there meeting with Maggie, he very much wanted to go sit in on it. He had too much going on today, though, and couldn’t get away
Once the business side of things was mostly sorted, Harry suggested getting a meal together. Maggie said yes.
At the restaurant, after they’d chatted about a few other things, Harry looked at her and shifted gears. “I heard that his parents have come around and given heir blessing.”
The sudden change of subject caught her off guard for a second before she pieced together what he meant
he nodded, keeping her expression neutral.
tella and Felix had always cared a great deal about family background and reputation. The fact that they’d changed their minds probably had something to do vith Julia putting her life on the line to save Franklin not long ago.
But that wasn’t her concern anymore.
till, if both Stella and Felix had given their blessing, she figured the divorce would probably go through without any issues this time.
After dinner, as they were heading out, they ran into Logan and Janice coming in with their group downstairs.
Logan smiled. “Harry, what a coincidence,”
farry nodded and greeted them both. “Uncle Logan, Aunt Janice.”
ogan and Janice nodded back, but their eyes had already drifted to Maggie. Maggie looked right through them. She turned to Harry and said, “Mr. Becker, I need o get going. If anything comes up on the partnership end, let’s find another time to talk through it.”
larry smiled, “Sounds good.”
Maggie gave a small nod, treated Logan and the rest of them like they weren’t standing right there, and walked away.
The way her expression had gone cold the instant she spotted the Greens and the Browns, the flash in her eyes, the shift in her face, all of it unguarded, Harry Couldn’t have missed it if he tried.
He’d always known there was bad blood between her and Julia, but seeing how completely she shut out the Browns and the Greens still caught him off guard.
Cole had been slammed lately, but things had finally eased up a bit, and that night Johnny took everyone in the department out to dinner as a thank you.
After toasting the group, Johnny turned and specifically clinked his glass with Maggie’s. “You’ve been putting in the work lately.”
Maggie smiled. “So have you, senior,”
The table was lively and loud. Maggie had just set her glass down when her phone buzzed a few times on the table beside her.

She picked it up and looked. One glance was all she needed.
His parents have agreed to the marriage. So today they specifically had him take my sister out to .neet them.
ohnny had leaned over to say something to her and caught the message too.
He let out a short, humorless laugh. “The Wilsons… actually gave them their blessing?”
Apparently so.
That’s what the message said.
ohnny took her phone and opened it up the rest of the way.
urns out there were two photos attached along with the text. In them, Franklin, Julia, Felix, and Stella were all seated together in a private dining room, having
