Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time (by Zora Pradeep) novel Chapter 611

Chapter 611

Back when Maggie had dropped 12 billion on that diamond, everyone had just assumed it was Johnny’s money.

But now people were starting to rethink that

Because the paddle number Maggie was holding right now was the same one shed used when she won the diamond.

At auction houses like this, top tier buyers got a reserved personal number. On top of that, their paddles looked different too, distinct in both design and color from what regular bidders or standard VIP got.

What Maggie was holding was the gold stamped paddle. The kind only the house’s highest level clients carried.

Johnny’s paddle earlier had been a standard VIP issue. No reserved number, nothing special about it.

Rex and Yves caught on at the same time as everyone else.

Like the rest of the room, they’d always assumed the diamond money had come from Johnny.

Now, staring at that paddle in Maggie’s hand, the assumption crumbled.

Yves looked stunned. That reserved number belongs to Maggie? She’s actually that loaded?

Rex said nothing, but his brow furrowed.

The reason he’d been so sure it was Johnny’s money was that he thought he had a handle on the Miller family’s finances. From what he knew, they weren’t even sitting on a billion total. The idea of Maggie personally pulling out over a billion for a single diamond had never even registered as a possibility.

But if that money really had come from her, where was it coming from?

Yves couldn’t help himself. Maybe Johnny fronted it and just had it registered under her name at the auction house?

Rex had considered that too.

So had a lot of other people in the room.

But then someone pointed out the obvious: if Johnny was paying for everything, why were the two of them holding separate paddles tonight? Why not just use

one between them?

Which meant there was a real chance Maggie had paid for that diamond herself.

But

Yves didn’t know what the rest of the room was thinking, but he actually knew Maggie’s situation, or thought he did. The possibility that she’d genuinely bought that diamond with her own money only made him more confused. So where is all this money coming from?

He paused. You don’t thinkFranklin gave it to her, do you?

Rex went still. Something shifted in his chest.

This was a man who’d handed Julia a company worth several billion like it was a casual gift. A villa worth hundreds of millions, gone without a second thought.
